It must've been Super Mario Bros. for the NES.
The first Christmas I had an NES I got 6 games (1989 or 1990, I forget):
Contra
Final Fantasy
Ultima: Exodus
Guerrilla War
Blades of Steel
Super Mario Bros 3
It was a good Christmas. Those two RPGs I got potentially made me as socially awkward as I am.

While I don't actually remember, this was probably my first game too. Either that or some really ghetto DOS games comprising of less than 5 colors.
And first game I ever BOUGHT, was Suikoden 2. Not a bad choice, hmm.

My first game ever was The Legend of Zelda on NES, but I watched my cousins play Duck Hunt a lot before I tried to play anything.

The first game I ever played?
Dragon Quest, either that one or Final Fantasy.
I don't quite remember which one, because I was 3 when I played my first videogame.
I remeber getting to level 29 on DQ and then defeating the dragon, I was an avid reader then, as unbelievable as it sounds, I was reading novels by 3.

I starting playing SMB when i was like 1 year old (I know, that's insane :) )and then I beat the game when I was 2 ... i used to play it everyday (According to my mom)
