THE STIGMA OF DISCUSSING YOUR OWN GAME ON THE GAME DESIGN FORUM

Hey guys, I want us to collectively deal with the apparent stigma associated with discussing game design and bringing up the game you are developing in that discussion.
I want it to stop.
Hence, I am allowing people here on out to post topics about the designing of their game, or talk about general game design theory and using their game as a prime example, in the Game Design & Theory forum.
A lot of people do this anyway, but it was never very clear that it was allowed, and sometimes bringing up your own game has been attacked in these discussions. So, to be clear, it is allowed and don't berate people for doing it.
NOTE: topics made for the purpose of advertising games are still not allowed on the forums.

So If I were to post about my game If I needed help or to talk about it.
It would need to go on another board?
Games like the drunken paladin could fit here since the game runs different types of scripts which apply to game design.
Well I presume I could post about mine if I wanted to talk about spiriting and such yet beyond that yes the parameters for this are quite on the confusing side.
Thanks Kentona for clearing things up though! :)

Well, basically, if you had some design questions about your game (like, 'Should I use a world map?' or 'What should my damage algorith be, this or this?') you can feel free to post them in Game Design & Theory if you like. Alternatively, if you had a general design or theory question and wanted to use your own game as an example (like, 'Action sequences in RPGs') that's okay too.
If you had some bug or scripting issue that you can't resolve, a thread asking for help resolving it would go in Help & Requests.
If you want to just say 'Hey, I have a demo now! Check it out!/Can someone review it?' that is (still) NOT allowed.

What happened that restricts demos?
It's games in general. Games are meant to go in game profiles while discussion can go in game profiles, blogs, articles, or the forums. Game profiles are basically better than forum threads in every way in managing content, discussion, updates, and media and we want to break the old game threads that are in every other forum-based RPG Maker website.
Expanding on Kentona's example, you can post your game in any "I want to review/Let'sPlay/whatever a game, post them here!" thread.

Considering I've made a lot of games, I do this kind of a lot because there is something relevant to just about any GD&T topic in at least one of my games. I haven't been attacked for it in a while, but it's good to know that it's officially allowed!

The start of this happening was during the WIP years, when the game profiles were introduced. WIP, and thus the community, were put into an extreme "GO USE THE NEW TOY OR ELSE" frenzy, without regards as to where the content was best discussed.
With WIP being a... I can't think of an appropriate metaphor, let's try this: with WIP blueballsing RMN and the recent parade of regime changes, the effect has died down a bit. However, more steps can be made to made both game profiles/blogs and the forums as active as they can be, discussing the proper topics on each.
Thiz iz nice!
Unlike the other Site admins,Kentona does stick to what he sez!

Well I thought the blog was to tell about progress and I wanted to use the fourms to ask more for help because really the fourms and main page are by far the most active parts of the site. Unless advertised on the main page allot of games are not usually seen. Though blog posts are shown it's only a small part of the main page.
So fourms should be like he here's my game would you like to help.
And blog should be this is how far the game is and give your thoughts below.
Is that a good example?

So, as far as I understand this, if I went and said that I had/have a game that fits a topic well, like an example say, the Jail game that I tried to make and VX, it was on this thread about games and problems where some things you have to explain straight out to the player or when you just let them think of it themselves, the topic was called Imagination in RPG's, i talked about my game and how confusing it was and how it didn't make sense, and when you taveled time and killed yourself, time still went on, that whole block of words wouldn't be allowed, because it was dealing with a game which I technically was "advertising".
It's just like on a VX game I'm making now(no, not on the computer I'm using to type this, it's on the family computer, this PC that has the right resolution, speaking of which, FakeRes doesn't seem to get my programs working on this computer -_-), if I were to use it as a example, I don't think I'd get scolded, but it would be more like advertising my game, and if I did it enough I'd probably get banned, if not just kicked for a small amount of time? I'm not making sense probably, but, that doesn't sound right.

Yes, Thorgrim, that's roughly the idea. If you had something to discuss regarding your game's design, you are free to create a topic in the Game Design & Theory forum if you wanted to.
pyrodoom, just use your best judgment.
