IGNORING IGNORANCE: UM, WHAT.
Posts
I like how all of you enjoy jumping on WIP, who created basically everything you use on this site, regardless of his past behavior (btw, he was going to nuke the site in order to replace it with a newer, better site, but y'all're stubborn, 2k3-using, <DELETED: EXCEEDS ALLOWED SUPERVILLAINY>).
...goddamnit I have to level up before I can be more of a dick.
Also, who trashed my original topic? I'm still curious, and wondering what the staff has done to ensure such events (sudden addition of functions, random deletion of topics) won't happen again.

from CrazeWell, gee, he kinda left that part out when he told everyone THE END IS COMING.

from CrazeWe're holding a staff meeting to discuss all this and better determine when such things are appropriate.

With a bit of deductive reasoning, the possible culprit is less of a mystery but it's impossible to figure out anything conclusive with all currently available information. It'd be interesting if anyone admits to it :D (I have my theories...)
I'm sure this has nothing to do with what you're thinking about, which seems rather complex(?), but I know I certainly did what I could to NOT discuss the resulting (secondary) event consisting in deleting the first topic, and to go back to the essential, as fast as possible : the function itself, in order, without much hope, to help have it removed, and this, in particular, by importing the entire first topic in the second.
chana, you usually have cool stuff to say but that is the most cryptic sentence I've ever read. Your cramming too much into one sentence/thought. That last bit sounds like when your flipping through the radio stations and you only catch a few words of each one :P Try using less ,stuff in commas, so it's easier to follow.
This whole debacle is turning into some sort of Watergate scandal ha Backroom shenanigans and public denial.

Short story is: we pushed code changes from our Dev server to PROD to facilitate the Misaos. Included in that push was a rather inconsequential (and common) Ignore function. But apparently that meant it was the end of the world?
Also, Craze has only part of the story. Don't read too much into what he was saying about WIP's intentions.

...um, I talked to WIP about it before, during and after. I honestly don't want to sound like I'm pulling e-peen here are anything, especially because I know that you were on his staff. I'm just saying, he was not going to immediately throw up something new, but he had serious plans that he had been discussing for months.
Removing the ignore feature was a mistake. Backing down on any decision because of community pressure...wow. That would never have happened when the WIPtator was around.
That said, I can't wait until this topic is burnt off the face of an internet with a soldering gun. There should be an ignore topic feature. : P

Depends on the situation. If there is a legitimate reason to back down, such as locking a topic that didn't need to be locked, then I see no problem.

The ignore feature is not gone, it is just going to move / get some tweaking before going live again.
This is offtopic and unrelated to this particular issue, but stubbornly refusing to reverse a decision just because people are complaining about it is just as bad.
EDIT:
wow lots of posts. Anywho, to elaborate, digging in your heels isn't always the best answer, either.
And, like I said before, we pushed code to PROD for the Misaos, so that we could run the misaos. That is also why you got a lot of other unannounced changes added (like the cool new Locker stuff)

LockeZ
I'd really like to get rid of LockeZ. His play style is way too unpredictable. He's always like this too. If he ran a country, he'd just kill and imprison people at random until crime stopped.
