Name: HEROGOOD vs. VILLAINBAD

Developer: Caz

Story: You're the crew of the HEROGOOD spaceship and the interaction occurs via pop-up windows ála StarFox. You are fighting enemies through space. Not much else to say here. The characters include the likes of Neil Headstrong and Amelia Starhart. The puns are strong with this one.

Why??? Why??? We didn't take a single hit, Captain!
Not a single hit! But Neil Headstrong is busted up really bad, anyway! I don't get it!

Writing: Sorry. Less dialogue, please. More 'pew' 'pew'. Thank you!

Gameplay: Just as it appears, this is a top-down, front-forward space shooter! AND IT'S DONE ON MV! I'd sure like to know how she did it. I've been trying to figure it out, myself. It even manages to get the gun working so that you can have more than one bullet on screen at a time. I really just wish the ship could move a bit faster. Also, the dev might want to consider ramping up the difficulty. Games like this work best as a bullet hell, and this is more of a bullet waiting room.

Sound: The music is best ignored. I suggest turning it off if you play. This could certainly use some more spacey music. Perhaps a more energetic piece of trance. And the bullets, oh my goodness, the bullets. I swear, it's someone saying "Pew" on high speed. And the Villainbad ship! When you hit it, it says "Ow". I love it. It's great.

Conclusion: A bit of tweaking, this could be a fun little game. As it is, it's not nearly as quick paced as it could be, but it's certainly a neat idea, and it shows a little of what's possible in MV outside of RPGs. It's just so damned short! Two minutes and you're done! Amazing as this is for MV, compared to other games of the same genre, it's pretty average. But the "pew, pew" and the "ow, ow" is just too amazing. You have to check this game out. I'd give it 3.5 stars if it was a complete game.
