That's not so right...

Good day, players
Today I wanted to try another game of the good old Twisted Fairy Tales event created for Halloween in 2018. The game this time is an adventure game by AlaskanEmily that is inspired by The Three Bears published by Robert Southey in 1837. I do not know if you know the faery tale (check it if you do't!) but I did, anyway let's talk about the game instead!

All begins when our protagonist goes with a friend to a hamburger joint, but looks like that this friend, Lily, is rather annoying since first she finds the hamburger too cold, then too hot and then... just right! The owners of the establishment appartently wants to excuse for these small problems and offer a refound, but no! It's a trap! Yes, the owners of the place are the three bears of the faery tale and... suddenly a blue fairy arrives to save the day...

I'm pretty sure that bears usually do not do this, but on the other hand they also do not run restaurants!

Aaaaand no, that's not where the adventure ends, but where it begins: in a short (10 minutes) linear adventure game we'll have to escape the place by solving a couple of puzzle. Uhm I do not know the bears' plan, but probably their intention was to turn the two customers into hamburgers, anyway expect a dark tale with unsettling moments and some gore.
Visually the game uses all custom made assets and images that give a nice retro-feeling that made me remember the old first person adventure games such as The Hobbit (1982) or The Pawn (1986), even if the faery tale theme reminds of the classic King’s Quest series, even if translated into a modern horror setting.

I do not mind the graphics and the story, on the contrary that's what made this game immediately appealing to me. What I did not like was the gameplay, aside for the narrative segments, or in other words the puzzles: these aren't explained at all and leave to us, the players, to figure out what's the course of action that will let progress the story. Ok, the first one is rather easy, but the second took me lots of tries, and was rather meh, in my opinion.

I hated this puzzle for the simple reason that there are no instructions...

Final Verdict
Just Right could have been a bit better game without the second puzzle, and with some more story, because it leaves a lot of question unanswered, anyway I liked the plot, it's creepy and really weird. Concerning the aestetics I liked the retro feel, aside with some problems with proportions, for example with the protagonist's arms... but it's not too bad and it fits this kind of adventure game. Finally the puzzles, well I hated those, unfortunately but maybe some other players may have fun with them, who knows? In any case it's a game made in a short time for an event so I can forgive some of these flaws. Well... some!
