Final Progress Report 26/02/2024

After all these years of delaying, not getting to work on the game, I can finally say it is finished.
Working on an RPG as a passion project and a hobby has been one of the most fun things. I had many more things I wanted to do and include, but due to getting older and life just being life, I had to put a line somewhere and say this is enough.

I'll look back on the game and say I'm glad with the outcome, even if things could've been better.
Either way, I hope everyone gives it a shot and has a great time.
Cause if a game is not fun, why bother, right?

Should the game be highly praised by the community and players, I'll consider making the sequel I've had planned for this game way back.

Progress Report 25/04/2023

Hi all! Back again with yet another update!

I haven't posted anything on the blog for more than a year as of today. That's because I've had a lot of things going on over the past year. But that doesn't mean I haven't made progress with the game!

As of today the game is nearly complete! With the story being complete and having a bunch of very neat post endgame stuff!

This implies that even after you've beaten the story, there is still a LOT of things still left to do!

I've also made lot of QoL changes to the game as a whole and really hope you guys will give the game a try. There's very little left to work on and I am looking forward to releasing the game!

Progress Report

Progress Report 06/03/2022

After a long time of not having had much time to work on it, I finally had the time to start working on the game again.

Last time when I posted a progress report, there were around 15 chapters. Right now the game is sitting at 22 chapters and having had multiple new things added. Some of which are new skills, allowing the player to utilize them to possibly combo.

I also have started to work on a Quest system using a plugin. This will allow the player to guide where to go. This way you won't get lost even if you quit and come back after a while.

Right now there are about two arcs left in the game. One of which I'm working on it right now. The one that comes after will be the final one. But I do have post-endgame content planned to have in the game.

Progress Report 14/04/2020

Hello everyone, I'm here once again to report again and give an update on the game!
Last time I said I was planning to redo a lot of things and that's pretty much what I've been doing up until now.
I haven't had as much time as I had hoped, but due to most people being stuck at home due to the pandemic situation (me included), I've had plenty of time work.
While technically 15 chapters have been created, I am simply going through them one by one and polishing them.

At the moment I've polished everything up until chapter 5.
While that may not seem as a lot, considering I have another 10 to polish, it did take a lot of work and effort.

Once it is all done, I will then continue with the chapters after chapter 15. While there is still a lot of work left to be done, I am still working hard as always!

Progress Report 25/12/2019

Merry Christmas everyone!

Here to report again and give an update on the game.
I've been working hard and decided to check up on all chapters and fix what needs to be fixed.
Planning to redo a lot of things to make everything run properly and get rid of unnecessary things.
It will take a while, but it will be well worth it.

Also I should've mentioned this before, but as of today the game will have a name change.
This will be the final name of the game!
As of today, the game will be known as:
Zoraculous: Academy Days!

Progress Report 26/10/2019

Hi guys, after nearly 3 months of no progress to report, I'm here once again!


Chapter related:
I've finished up working on Chapter 14 & 15 at the time of this post.
There may be minor things that still need tweaking in Chapter 15, but other than that it is as good as finished.


Skill related:
Some of the skills just didn't deal the right amount of damage and take too long to prepare with TP.
I've changed these skills so that they deal more damage and the TP you gain is increased.
The last thing the player needs to deal with is feel like he/she is fighting against a damage sponge for ages.


NPC related:
Various changes made to some merchants in the game.
Such as the prices being far too much.
So I've changed these and made them far more affordable.


Will keep up the hard work and of course keep you up to date once there is more progress to report!

Progress Report 9/8/2019

Hi guys, another progress report here!

Chapter related:
I've finished up working on Chapter 13 and worked out all of the little details in it.
Mostly movement and dialogue related.
Some things didn't want to work at first, but I've fixed it all up and tweaked them so it all looks good!


Skill related:
Other than that I've taken the time to do a revamp on all of the player skills.
I've taken notes and decided to take action upon them.

Up until now the skills were put down pretty randomly.
For example:
-Skill that requires magic could be in either the Magic or Special tab.
-Skill that requires TP could be in either the Magic or Special tab.

I've decided to change this so now it will be like this:
-Skill uses Magic>Magic tab
-Skill uses TP>Special tab
-Skill uses both Magic & TP>Special tab

This will make the skills more organized and you'll know exactly which tab to go to depending on what you want to use.

Also I've finally taken the time to finish up on the description of the skills.

Before it would simply be like:
-Attack your enemy with a quick double slash!
Now it will say:
-Attack your enemy with a quick double slash!
Increases TP by 5 per hit.


So the player knows what every single skill does and what the effects of them are.


Map related changes:
-Various NPC's added to your hometown to make it a bit more populated.
-Various NPC's added to some of the Academy maps.


Will keep up the hard work and of course keep you up to date once there is more progress to report!

Progress Report

Progress Report 3/8/2019

After doing some tweaks for Chapter 11, I've also completely finished up on Chapter 12.
Very happy with how it turned out and there's a very nice cutscene in it too!

The plan is to start working on Chapter 13 very soon and make more progress, but currently I'm working on the Story draft as we speak.

All in all I've made some good progress considering I made an entire Chapter and finished it in one day (worked on it for 9 hours straight).

Will keep you all up to date once there is progress to report!

Returning to Zora once again!

Upon the game being accepted, I'm glad to announce that there's been steady progress!

Compared to the previous two titles, this one is much more linear , but also has a much longer length of playtime!
Currently I've finished 11 Chapters and I've already reached the same amount of playtime of both previous games combined!

I've been super dedicated to finish this piece of work and I'm proud to say it has been an amazing experience so far.
