In early England, all is in disorder. The king seeks to do naught but feed his own purse, and none have power to object. Mercenaries vulture the land as parasites, feeding off the broken country's remains.

Alastair, a mercenary who is little different than the king, will stop at nothing for his share of gold. He counts heads like bags of money, and sees hearts like archers' targets for practice. After slaughtering the Prince Arthur of Castle Odell, pawn to the Norman Invasion led by Duke William, he is tossed aside as another useless sell-sword. He takes up arms once again as he is requested by the mayor of the Village Laput to see the last breath of the demon Beelzebub, a ghastly creature that laid curse to every man and child in the village.

Alastair's crawl through the endless dungeon bears more complication than one might think, as he presses into the very pits of hell to do battle with the Lord of the Flies.

The game I had intended to make had great ideas and potential, but was ultimately downed by the time limit and ended up half-baked. I plan to revisit this project sometime in the near future.

Final Version...in about 20 minutes.

There are some last minute tweakings I had to go and do. The game should be much more enjoyable and challenging at this point. Hopefully. I'm uploading the final version to RMN now.

Dude, Harpy + Wyvern = Cheap death.

Seriously, what the fuck. It's like, if you don't luck out and knock the piss out of either the harpy or wyvern in 2 turns, you're doomed to being knocked dizzy and being unable to attack because of magic crush. Until you die.
The beginning was a tad confusing! I thought Alistair was the guy in blue until later. It's pretty decent so far, the using MP to attack thing is kinda odd, but not too bad!

(Didn't realize this wasn't a newer game! Playing through it to give you a review though)
I'm not sure if you should waste your time, I mean it's been a while since I made this game and I understand that it's...well, kind of shit. You're free to review it if you like, though. Just make sure you hit on how punishing players for no reason sucks and the battles, though they tried to be inventive and almost got where they were going, really didn't work in the end.
Thanks for the heads up! I will say one of the things that attracted me to try this out was that you didn't just up and use the default RTP graphics. As nice as some games that use them may be, I get tired of seeing the same looking thing over and over. ^^
Loving the game! This without doubt would've been a hit in the NES library!
Yeah...I decided to try this out of curiosity. It's alright, and managable with the right strategy...but there's no teleport event's once you get to the subterranean level. Not sure how that never came up.

Also..getting to that chest with 1 gold was ridiculous...I needed a bit of luck to get past those mandrake battles.
