A cute whimsical short story...

Why would a witch need to summon the Devil? For a Tea-Party of course!

As Hazel, you will walk through the house collecting all the items you need to perform a summoning ritual. Some of the items are ready to pick up, while others you'll need to trade for. The house is inhabited by ghosts, but a witch like you needed worry, they are harmless and the worst that can happen is you are booted back to the front door. Once you have collected all the items, just head down to the basement and start the ritual.

The End.

The game is short and sweet, the puzzles don't take too long to figure out, and the game rewards you with some nice art and dialogue for an ending. My favorite aspect of the game by far is the diagram of the ritual itself. It's an inventory item you can refer to whenever you need. It looks to be hand drawn and shows you everything you need to collect and where to place each item.

Having never played a game created in WOLF RPG EDITOR, I couldn't say what graphics are native and what is custom, but to me it all seems to fit well and doesn't mix a lot of art styles that clash in odd places. I really enjoyed the scenes from the ending and the entire premise of the game itself.

The music comes from Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy" which is a well known movement in the Nutcracker Suite. It's a whimsical piece, which is perfect for this game since you are trying to summon the DEVIL for Tea and Cookies. To me it just fits the setting very well.

I have to applaud the creator of the game, jewelswithwings, for creating a short game and putting it out there. I wish I'd have done that too instead of having my Epic work in progress sitting unfinished for years on end. To quote Dark Gaia's article on first projects, "You don't always have to make a game so tremendously revolutionary that it turns the community upside down." Rather, we are encouraged to make that short game as we learn our favored game maker, and that's what this creator did.

Short, Sweet, and Finished.

Thank you so much for both the review and the letsplay!

Glad you liked the graphics! Everything was drawn by me for this game specifically (except for the fonts), the sole reason this game actually took a pretty long time to make for being this short. Good to know I was able to maintain consistent artstyle!

It was really satisfying to see someone figure out the clock mechanic quickly, I didn't want to make it too obvious but people kept missing it

It indeed is mainly a proof of concept that I can finish something, after having lots of grand ideas I cannot tackle alone and lose heart halfway because of sheer scale - so, yes, you've put it all to words exactly as it is. Thanks again, hope you're having a wonderful day!
