Hellooooo people!
This is a demo. Yeah, another one of the entries of the Event Event event that saw some interesting entries... like this one, because Titenic is a demo made with Godot and inspired by an obscure chinese bootleg game called Titenic. That's basically an arcade game based on the Titanic movie, anyway a sidescrolling fighting game where you play as Jack and Rose that punch and kick sailors, cooks and various passengers was clearly a bizarre re-telling of the story.
Or wasn't?
Anyway Jack is back, he's still inside the Titanic... or Titenic, and he's amnesiac.
The music we'll hear is clearly a 8-bit version of Micheal Jackson's Thriller, and when the undead ghouls, giant spiders and evil carnivorous plants come out, he'll realize that things aren't going well!
Look mom, I'm like Super Mario! (but what are doing those blue guys over there?)
Titenic 2 is a sidescrolling arcade platform game where we explore the ship, look for upgrades (just a couple but hey this is a demo!), and punch monsters (just three, but again, this is a demo!). Jack has just two lives in the beginning, so a bouple of hits means game over. But luckily this demo is not too difficult, but hey it's also verrrrry short, at least it has an ending, and since it took the badaptation event as a reference... well that's prerfect, I mean this is 5 minutes of WTF, but hey, I played complete event games that were ecen shorter!
Anyway that's not all good, and wait, the problem is not because the game is short, or because there are few power ups and enemies (did I tell you that this is a demo?) but because I experienced a couple of crashes (after a game over) and I also found a place where you can get stuck (the upper right section of the ship, hard to reach but can be done, and then you will disappear from the screen and fall...
What else? Grapgics are simple but nice, and have this "Castlevania feeling" that I like, the controls are simple but perfect and if this is a demo, I'd not mind a longer game with more rooms and more enemies.
She's obviously here to be drawn like one of your French girls, of clurse!
NOT The Final Verdict
After Titanic 2 and Titanic 666 we've Titenic 2, another horror take on the Titanic story... but with some humor too! This is a little demo but rather interesting, it's rare finding action and arcade games here, and many of them aren't even that good, usually controls feel clunky and are not fluid and responsitive like in this case (and I'm talking of games made with unity, not rpgmaker!). So? I dunno, here we've a little demo with a bad ending! Try it if you want!
