<insert cool title here, please!>

Hello!
SWOLLEN TO BURSTING UNTIL I AM DISAPPEARING ON PURPOSE (STBUIADOP in the next lines) is a RPG Maker MV rpg/adventure game made by December7th (yes, that's the developer, this is not an error!) and released in September 2023. The game can be downloaded from Itch.io, or from Steam if you click the link also present on this page.
In any case be warned that this is no real rpgmaker jrpg but rather an adventure game made with rpgmaker, there are in fact no battles, no party management, no equipment, and the game takes place during a single day in a town called... Vomit. Oh yes! That's the name of the place.

STBUIADOP starts with a prologue: an alien flying saucer arrives and hovers over the protatonist's apartment, then collides with a bird and crashes. Then we get to name our protagonist, and a new day starts!
It's Thursday and our protagonist has to go to work at the post office: soon it will be clear that the crashed ufo is only one of the weird things present in this town, from aggressive elevators to talking fishes, underground dwellers and strange people. And the weirdness will start as soon as we clock in!

We work in Vomit Town as a postman, so we will have to deliver parcels!

Ok, but what about the gameplay? Well, being an adventure game expect to explore, look for items, interact and use what you need to solve problems. I mean, the postman protagonist has to deliver some parcels, but during the day there will be time to explore, fish (if you have the fish food) and also investigate the fallen flying saucer, of course! Anyway once you deliver everything and punch out the day ends and also the game will finish so, be warned! You can play for how much you want.

An important series of machines that you will encounter are the cows: these act as save points, fast travel points (after you find the cow food) and place where we can level up. Oh yes, there are no battles, but to solve some problems (not always in an aggressive way) you will need a certain level ottherwise it will be instant GAME OVER, and to get more levels you will need to collect some "Effects" (reminds to me of those from Yume Nikki) that can also be milked for levels.
What else? Looking around town you will be able to solve some problems and tasks (like capturing a determined number of fishes and playing rock-paper-scissor) unlocking new places and so on... will you dyscover the mystery of this bizarre place? I didn't but I probably shall start another playthrough!

Now, in STBUIADOP the music is good (i liked the eerie menu screen music and also the main theme of the game) but the visuals are excellent: I liked the 3D graphics used (remind to me of Dememorize, but that one was made with Unity and had olso some 1st person sections) and its unique style with dull colors and a sort of "glaze" that reminds to me the film of some old movies and vhs. But the important thing is that the final result is a peculiar atmosphere where the world is sad and ugly despite a cute style that reminds to me of games like Earthbound or Mother. Mapping is interesting, the area we can explore isn't really big, but remember to check every corner, even behind the buildings where we cannot see, because items and precious hints will be often hidden from us! Heheheh!
The only issue I found isn't really an error: there is a deserted road that you cannot cross because "you may be hit by a car"... but there is no traffic! Zero!

Uhm ok! As long as you're not burying corpses... I guess! Anyway the cow is watching you!

Final Verdict
I finished the game once, but I still have to explore STBUIADOP much more to solve every task, find every fish and so on. It's a game with a powerful atmosphere, disturbing and entertaining, it really makes the player curious and willing to learn more, explore and understand what is going on. And there are many little mysteries and events going on in that little town that is Vomit. There are place to explore, things to read, because it's a small game but that offers a lot, solid and with a cool aestetic. Is it good? Yes, it's good! 4/5
