Too many move routes
I should blog more frequently, just to prove that I'm still working on this.
Did you know Set Discrepancy all ready has 124 maps? And there will probably be at least three times that amount in total. There are various room 'schemes' (such as Dorm Room, Dorm Corridor, Common Room, etc) and each scheme has a variety of maps based on which exits are present. A full scheme consists of 15 different maps -- one with just an exit north, just an exit east, north and east, south, south and north, yadda yadda yadda. Each map has a variety of events that designate different types of things that can appear in the room, such as a player, a creature, an item, and so forth.
And guess what? Every player event must be programmed with move routes to walk to every other object in the map in order to interact with things. A typical player event has about 25 different pages with 2 move routes each, one for approaching the object and one for returning. That's about 400 move routes so far. And then there are the monsters, which also have to approach players to attack, although they only need about 10 routes each. Still, though. That's about 440 move routes. Per map.
Just trying to explain what's taking this stupid thing so long to make. :P
