Not dead. I swear.

... although each time I say it, you probably believe me less and less.
I was hoping to have a playable demo up before the beginning of November because November is NATIONAL NOVEL-WRITING MONTH, during which you're only allowed to put creative energy toward your novel. Or else you die terribly. Although I am still tinkering with this game still from time to time.
To do list:
1) FInish implementing mission events. This is much more complicated than it would be in a standard RM game. In a standard RM game you toss events on the map and set them to "On Player Touch". But this game has cycling turn-based gameplay with no direct control of player movement -- think of it as though the entire game took place during a battle from the default RM engine. Thus it uses custom programming for almost everything, which obviously isn't accessible through the RPG Maker interface, so I have to do all my implementation at the code level.
Not to mention that the player is free to split up the party at any time, and perform some tasks out of order, so there have to be a dozen variations of each major scene based on who is present and what has all ready been done. And this all of course must then be tested.
2) Finish making sprites. This task has been interrupted by the fact that my graphics program recently lost support for the pencil tool. Seriously. It crashes when you select the pencil tool. Considering it's an ages-old program that came bundled with a scanner I no longer even use, I shouldn't be too surprised. A friend of mine suggested GIMP, which I haven't downloaded yet because I haven't felt like it yet.
3) Uhh. A list feels incomplete with only two items. But well, that's it.
This game will have a secret "Brannon Braga" ending where Commander Riker comes in and remarks on how inspiring the game has been.

I am deeply intrigued by this game. Ever since I finished "The Longing Ribbon" I started following this. I was very excited when my Notices button blinked and I saw you have an update! I am sure I am one of many people stalking your progress. =P
I find the idea of your game very unique. Where you inspired by anything else?
BTW, Gimp = great tool for those of us (like me) who can't afford Photoshop.

Yes! I enjoy stalking! It has been inspired by many many things. But SS2 is the main thing.

Good to see you are so enthusiastic.
When programming doesn't work, it is the ninth circle of hell.
BUT WHEN IT DOES WORK, YOU FEEL LIKE GOD.
