Carpe Diem: Episode One

Skylar Lancaster

Description: When a Zylac attack forced his family to head underground, Skylar thought it was the last time he'd ever see the surface. But when he finds himself walking the surface once more, he gets caught between two worlds and is forced into the role of a leader, a role he never saw himself taking. Dependable and trusting of others, Skylar is the moral backbone of the group, always trying to do the right thing when he can. He is adept at Lightning elemental attacks and fights best with a sword in hand. On his journey of self discovery, Skylar will have to accept, sooner than later, that some growing pains are inevitable.

Haru Linaf

Age: 23
Sex: Male
Weapon: Swords
Description: Haru, like Skylar, was forced to flee his home during a Zylac attack, one that his family did not survive. He was taken in by a local A.Z.A.F. soldier who raised him and taught him how to fight as he got older. He has mastered the art of dual wielding, moving effortless between strikes and using his skills with the Wind element to strike foes quickly. Strong, loyal, and quick to draw his blade, Haru will often forego diplomatic resolutions and solve his problems with the tip of his blades. A militaristic upbringing has changed this young small-town boy into a hardened fighter.

Zephyr

Age: 259 (Completed in 47 years, buried for 212 years.)

Weapon: Arm Blaster
Description: Formally named Zyero-0001 after Dr. Zyero, Zephyr is an ancient relic from the past. Initially designed to be one of the first naturally evolving androids, Zephyr's production took a dramatic shift upon the arrival of the Zylacs. As a means to fight back the alien menace, it became standard for all androids to become equipped with weaponry of all types. However, when it became evident the human race was fighting a losing battle, Dr. Zyero deactivated his creation and buried it deep underground in the hopes that one day, humanity would rise again and Zephyr would serve it's initial purpose. Dr. Zyero died shortly after. Now, after 212 years underground, a sleeping giant is about to be awoken.

Rayne Valentine

Age: 21
Sex: Female
Weapon: Energy Bracelets
Description: Rayne is the princess of the southern kingdom ruled by her father, King Drevin Valentine. As the youngest member of the royal family, she is mainly in charge of staff relations and maintaining order around the castle. She never leaves its walls. Her two bodyguards, Alkamar and Trance, are her sworn protectors and while Trance is often away on royal duties, Alkamar is the one she is closest with. Rayne has dreams of a life outside the castle walls and relies on the stories of soldiers and staff members to educate her. Not much of a fighter, but certainly no pushover, she relies on bracelets powered by magic that she can use to strike foes with concentrated energy blasts.


Draight Klaynehart

Age: 64

Weapon: Power Gauntlets
Description: Draight is a 27 year veteran airship pilot of W.A.A. (World Alliance Army) After losing his best friend in combat, he retired and pursued a career as a commercial pilot. During this stint, he picked up a drinking habit, often closing out the bars at each of his destinations. At age 53, he was fired from his position for excessive drinking. Not content with calling it quits, he joined up with a band of mercenaries, flying cargo past borders and getting into some trouble of his own. Two years in, Draight was mortally wounded in both his arms, rendering them virtually useless. He was forced to leave the group, returning home to an empty house with a note left from his wife not to come after her and their daughter. Defiantly, he looked for them anyway and after six fruitless years, decided to retire full-time. He now secludes himself from the world and lives on his own in some far off corner.

Trance Lyel

Age: Unknown (Looks early 30's)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Sword
Description: Trance is a closed book and a walking contradiction. At times abiding by the law of the land, at others using sheer force to get what he needs. There is nothing Trance does not know and no situation that can shake his stoic demeanor. Promises mean a lot to Trance and he will hold you to your word above all else. When he speaks, his wisdom seems to derive from generations of experience and when he is silent, more than likely he is in some deep meditation. Trance travels a lot, mostly at the behest of King Drevin Valentine, but on other occasions, is free to deal with his personal matters. There is a hidden energy about Trance, one that never truly bubbles to the surface unless absolutely necessary.

Alkamar Orbal

Age: Unknown (Looks late 30's)
Sex: Male
Weapon: Pinwheel
Description: Alkamar is royal guardian to princess Rayne, a role he has undertaken since she was born. His guard dates back to the King himself and his father before him. Alkamar is cold and unforgiving, thinking very little of almost everyone around him. There is no highroad for Alkamar, he is the highroad. He says what's on his mind and means it and is not above giving others hurtful nicknames to get under their skin. For as many people he has killed in his lifetime, he has a knack for making new enemies regularly. Alkamar uses a specially made pinwheel as his main weapon which he can alter with different elements depending on his foe.

Ledron Key

Age: 14
Sex: Male
Weapon: Staff
Description: Ledron is a foster child who was adopted at the age of three by a man named Tomura Miyagin, a martial artist and teacher at a school for gifted children. Ledron is a hothead and likes to brag about his skills, no matter if they're actually good or not. He does not taking losing very easily. Like any kid though, he just wants to be taken seriously. He is a gifted learner though and can mimic the moves of his enemies with enough practice, making him an unlikely fighter to be reckoned with. There is a special bond he shares with an otherworldly realm surrounding Kelevor.
