I personally don't find it ugly, just that the colour(s) seemed to make the text box FEEL as if it was taking up more of the screen than it was, coz you just couldn't ignore it..! :-)

GREAT game btw, one of the only RPGMaker games that kept me obsessively coming back for more..!
