Is it OK for a video game, or just offensive?

can't make a bad game if you don't finish any games

Depends. Is the character explicitly offensive, or is it just for kicks? The latter is usually tasteless.
idk a lot of people seem to get away with it.
Family Guy and South Park do it all the time, and I usually laugh. Bu then again, I might just have a tasteless sense of humour. ^^
I would say its ok, as long as its clear you don't really feel that way. Usually the joke is so ridiculous that no one with a sense of humor would take it seriously, so you're probably fine. Of course, southpark and family guy go out of thier way to try to push the boundries of what can be made funny. If you are comfortable doing that then go for it, but keep in mind that jokes like that will cause people to view the game as "edgey"

I'd have to see the joke in context to determine if it is funny or in bad taste, but my guess is that its ok since you don't seem to be the type who tries to go for the shock laughs.
I suppose you're right.

Yes, I try to do the subtle type of jokes. I just find that more fitting for adventure games. Also, the edgy type of jokes usually require a bit of irony, and irony is hard to communicate when there is no voice acting. That's why the irony can easily be misinerpreted when you're just reading dialogue.
I feel for you Merte. In my AP English class at school, we had to take a state-wide AP English exam, and it had us do shit like pick Irony out of poetry. I was always like, now is this literal or is this figurative? Ghaaa damnit!!

I do believe, from what I've learned, that there is a certain way to write Irony as text without needing the tone of voice present. I mean, poets are able to do this!
Yes... but usually through other means than just dialogue. In a game you're usually limited to only dialogue.
