Reason behind the title change.

When I made Chrono Alter, I wasn't making a Chrono Trigger 2. I was making a stepping stone game, certainly, and it was a Chrono game yes, but not Chrono Trigger 2. THIS is CT2.
The return of Time Travel, a new epic story, EVERYTHING screams CT2 now. New gameplay ideas are being brought to the table to enhance battles and dungeons.
In short, Chrono Alter was a Chrono game, but not Chrono Trigger 2. This is.

Ok, so basically this should mean this game is supposed to surpass Chrono Trigger in every way then?
That means some quite high expectations to some people, you know.

Yeah all joking aside it seems a little arrogant to view your fangame as "part of the series" when you are just reusing graphics from the first game and probably don't have the same vision as the original game designers. I mean I like the look of Mother 4 (a fan game) but no matter how good/original it looks, I really doubt they can achieve the Shigesato Itoi touch...
comment=35876I apologize. I should have rephrased that.

By series, I mean the series set up by my studio. No one will EVER achieve CT level in a video game ever again. That's not my studio's intentions. Our intentions are to simply make an enjoyable, interactive fan fiction.
The reason the title was changed is simple. The project started off being a lot like CT: Crimson Echoes. It has since changed into something much different, and called for a title change. CT2 just felt good.
That's what this is all about, just something to enjoy. CT2 is merely a title, and typically, sequels don't live up to their predecessors.
(psst, you're doing it wrong)
You're supposed to wait until you've COMPLETED a Chrono Trigger game, like Ratty524 did, where even if Square-Enix does something, the game is already out there. Now, it's TOO LATE. For some reason, Square-Enix is relentless about Chrono Trigger fan games, yet doesn't care about Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest ones.
