Demo v0.02 posted!

Ok! I've finally made some progress and have completed the second demo of the game!
It should be about one hour long of gameplay.
For those of you who played v0.01, this demo isn't a LOT longer than the previous one.
I've worked mainly on polishing the battles, the maps, the dialogue and the menus.
I haven't progressed as far with the story as I would've liked (but it is all there in my head, so I have no worries about the game entering hiatus!), because I've been doing of events checking, scripts polish, etc.

I'd say the game at this point is about 40% completed. We still haven't seen any of Prince Rostam, and we're yet to confront our main antagonist.

New things/changes:
- Quest Log added
- I'm working on fixing the balance of the enemies, etc.!
- Additional maps
- One new playable character (A cleric)
- One more Herbalism recipe (I hope herbalism is actually useful, this time around...)
- New Skills
- New Items

I post the second demo in hopes that those of you who didn't get the chance to play the first one tell me what you think: if you like the direction where the game is going and stuff like that.
And if you DID PLAY the first one, please tell me if you think this is an improvement!

So... I'm uploading the demo now. Hopefully it'll get accepted sometime soon.
Please post any bug report/critique/comment/suggestions/rant/anything HERE in this blog post and NOT on the main game page, so I can concentrate more easily on finding all suggestion regarding v0.02, ok?

Thanks!

EDIT: Forgot to mention, you'll need the RPG Maker XP RTP (you can find the link in the 'Credits' page of this game profile) and the "Steinem Unicode" Font (there's a copy in my locker -- it's called STEINEMU.ttf).
Also, the game's encrypted for convenience. If anyone wants to get an un-encrypted version, just ask me and I'll find a way to send it to you.

EDIT2: The download is now live! I'm thankful for it being accepted. =)

Thanks, MKID232! Don't know if you had the chance to play the first demo.
If you find the time to play this, I'll be open to any suggestions you may have.
I would if it weren't for the fact that it is a rar file. :(

Ok. I posted a self-extractable .exe version of the same demo. At this moment it's pending.
Let me know if you have any more trouble with it -- Hopefully not! =)
I don't get why people use rar when they can use exe.
Here's something you need to fix: When Noish was promoted to Journeyman, I ran into a problem: One of the fighter's guild trainees got stuck between two tables. I couldn't get out of the room at all.
I think there's a topic for that, but just so you know, here's what you do:

Fullscreen your game (Alt+enter)

Press the Prt Scrn button.

Go to MS paint.

Select the cutting tool.

Right click on the screen and select paste.

Save the picture (Make sure you save it as .JPG or .PNG)

And bam. A screen shot able to be uploaded.

I really like it so far! One question and it may seem stupid... but how do you take screenshots? D:
I've been trying to take a few of my game but I don't know how or where they go.

The method I use to take screenshots is press ALT + Print Screen when playing the game, to capture the desired screen.
Then I go to a graphics program like MS-Paint and PASTE (Ctrl+V), and then I save the image as .png.

Glad you're liking it so far! Please tell me if you find any bugs or things you don't like.
Thanks for taking the time to try the game!.

OK! I'll look into it! Could you describe exactly which trainee got stuck? The purple haired one? The green haired one? The sage? And at which moment? After the Guild Leader left the room? It would really help me out. Thanks!
The purple haired one after the guild leader left, when my character was allowed to move.

OK! That was unfortunate, indeed. I think I have corrected it now.
In the meantime, you should try a previous save and run the cutscene again: with any luck, that guy won't get in your way again.

You found the first bug in the game! It's already fixed for v0.03.
Hopefully you'll able to complete this demo.
Hopefully. Did you just set him to randomly move in V.02?

Yup, I did. He was indeed set to random movement.
I have changed it to a custom route that doesn't interfere with the main character now.
But I'll wait for more people to test the game before releasing the next version.
Wait, I think I messed it up: It WAS the green-haired fighter. I was just a bit too frustrated to notice. Funny how I remembered the purple haired guy, who was in my game running into the bed.

No matter, they have been both fixed.

EDIT: Sorry about the frustration... Guess you didn't play Daggerfall: THAT was a frustrating game, crashing when you least expected it.
No I haven't played Daggerfall, though I do know that's an Elder Scroll game. I found another glitch.

Hey! You're right! I forgot to adjust the passability there.
Thanks! You're being VERY helpful!
Good to know. On the whole, though, this game is pretty good from what I've seen so far. I like how you don't actually use characters in the battle for the player, but rather symbols of the weapon they use.

One thing I do want to know, though, is what script did you use to get health and mana bars?

EDIT: In hindsight, I probably should've made a screenshot of the first glitch.
