Despite the look, this demo holds a vast amount of mystery!

DISCLAIMER: I am rating this on the DEMO, not on the full game itself. Be it may, i will re-do my review, as the game opens up.

This game has been a demo for i'm not quite sure how long. I decided one day to download it for pleasure, and started at it. I was surprised with the depth of the game, despite the fact that it was merely a demo. The debug room also added to the fun of the game, looking at the areas that were incomplete. I hope this game actually does get finished, but for now, i'll actually start this review.

Balance: 4/5. This is no button mashing game. Granted it takes a while to gain any real skills, it is only a demo, so it can't be held against it. The demo creates a great way to fight, using some skills to defend yourself. I found myself actually using items more so then any of the other games i've played on here thus far. It wasn't too difficult, except for the final fight of the demo, in which i died maybe twice before going to grind and coming back.

Level Design: 4/5 There wasn't really anything wrong with the design. I couldn't find myself going through walls, or doors, or anything like that. The towns were somewhat in depth, but at the same time, it almost seemed like you had to walk from one end to the other to activate events. The shops seemed pretty plentiful, and the leveling in itself was pretty simple. My only true issue, was with the size of the castle, the area seemed rather empty. The first town however, seemed like a party was going about, with the amount of people in them.

Characters: 3/5. Granted the characters each seemed to have their own personality, i kept asking myself. What caused the rivalry? What makes them so hard to deal with each other?? Even better, it included a little bit of mystery that wanted me to play more, but some people were introduced to the game, and never really were seen. I liked that about this game, but the fact that they weren't really in depth introduced, really faltered in my opinion, and I would have preferred that, over the mystery aspect.

Story: 4/5. The storyline seemed mysterious as well, which kind of bugged me. A man with two woman as secretaries, which seemed that he couldnt use teleporting, because he was on a data plan of sorts. And you, the main character, having issues with your rival, go to the next town over to discuss gambling. Finally when you decide you want to help, you gotta kill things, then go bug a bouncer, and in the end, you fight the man who is obviously a supremely powerful antagonist. Almost seems cliche wouldn't you think? Not quite, because once again, things aren't explained in the demo. That's i guess what would bug me, the demo was too short :(.

Music and Sound: 2/5. this uses the basic stuff from RPGM2K. While the atmosphere for all this music is in the right location, I myself did not enjoy it, as it was bland and, I couldn't get into the battle systems. i found myself trying to play and actually turn the whole music off, unless something new popped up. It was a rather empty choice of music and, I would've preferred something better.

While this is but a demo, I tried hard in understanding the emptiness it seemed in the plotline. The debug room was a great idea with the game, letting you feel for some of the world map, after it was beat, and included alot of extras not alot of games actually do. It was full of mystery, and that for me sparked interest, but yet again, also showed emptiness. The game shows great promise, but, at the same time, it could go either way. Thanks for reading guys (if anyone has decided to read this.)
