I remember you looking for people to help with this project awhile ago. To be honest I thought this would turn out like shit. But judging from these screenshots and the sprites, it actually looks almost professional. My only problem is the lack of that "low res feel" the characters are really small so it's easy to lose focus on your main character. In SNES/rm2k3 games the characters are exceptionally large enough so it's easy for the "action" to be conveyed correctly. IDK how to explain it much further than that, it's just the main problem I have with XP games is that the charsets seem to be really small and whenever there's a conversation is going on in the corner of the screen, about 75% of the screen just seems... useless.

Other than that, I think the reflections should be made more obvious, I had no idea that there were reflections until I saw that asari lady. You might want to darken them so that it's really easy for someone to say "oh, those are reflections, i can easily see whats the floor and what's the wall"
A really, REALLY good point with the reflections. I think it's definitely easier to tell the difference when you're actually in the game, but even so, I would like to make it more clear.

I also considered making the sprites a little bigger, but it had some unwanted effects (such as the feeling that the playable area seemed smaller than it really was. etc...)

When I first started this project, it was just me, and I wasn't sure how far I would get with it. But now there's a team of 9 people plus myself working daily on this thing... so it's definitely come a long way since it first started off. Speaking of which, where did you first hear about this?
