Fascinating potion.... what is the focus of this picture?
To ask a question on the help and requests. It's called Custom Skill Book Help.
Aha.......... ok..........well then how is this a custom skill book help. It's just a potion being used
I randomly picked an item, made a screenshot, and used it as an example on what I want to get rid of for custom books. Specifically, the part where you choose which character uses the item.
Oooh! I get it now, why would you want to get rid of where you choose the character?
Because the skill book item doesn't work that way. It asks you who you want to teach the skill to, and you pick from a list. But I'm limiting who can learn what (for example, only Diana can learn the Mega Lightning one.)
Oh, a skill book. Now I really get it! Make it a common event, and give the player options on who to teach the skill to. For example, from Aveyond 2 (one of my favorite games)

North Wind Scroll asks who do you want to teach this spell to? Then it displays two choices, Nicolas or Gavin, and the player chooses who to teach it to. (Yes, I love that game so much that I have memorized that part) :)
I have it doing that. The problem is I ALSO have to pick the character who will use the item so that a character can learn the skill that it has. E.G. the screenshot.

have you tried changing the part where it says 'Scope:' to "none" in the Items tab of the Database editor?
Dur...no.

EDIT: That did it. Thanks, RabitZ.

Skill learning items are so much easier to do in RM2K. If I remember right, you can even set up the database to limit who can use what item. However, this isn't RM2K.

I guess this is a moot point, though. I'm guessing you're using a script, or common event, to have the character learn the skill?
Common Events are the easiest way to do this, of course with the scope set to none.
