Almost looks like the bg is from minecraft heh or maybe a Doom level.

The art style of this game is kinda hit and miss, but at least it's unique. Kudos on that.

Ya got me!
I made the maps in Doom, screenshotted them, and plopped them in Rm2k3 (I did the same on my other project "Orchandville").

I can see where you're coming from regarding the art style. I'm no amazing artist, but I wanted the game to look colorful and unique, so at least I succeeded in that sense!
haha No way. I don't actually recognize it from Doom but that game was big for me so I know the look. It's actually a really cool idea.

My biggest complaint is not about the sprites themselves. You obviously have no delusions about their quality :P I just mean how they look on the images behind them. This image isn't so bad, but this image http://rpgmaker.net/games/2973/images/45908/ is the worst offender. That sprite doesn't fit at all, it looks like different resolutions. Some of the other maps aren't too bad. That's why I say it's hit and miss.
Ah, yes. The World Map.

I really wasn't sure how I wanted to do that (honestly it's better than it could be, at one point there was just a giant, floating head, and the free-roam was replaced with set locations to switch between, like Super Mario or something). I've wanted to replace that sprite for forever, but with the whole black-outlined look of everything else, it's hard to figure out how to make it look less ugly.
