Brainstorming - Items in POJ2 (also my plans for a demo)

I've created this blog with the intention of getting some fan input. I'm currently creating/deciding all of the items for the game, but I actually don't have a very large list as of right now.

That's where you guys come in! If you have any ideas for the items, go ahead and leave a comment. Remember, Path of Justice is an action game, so the items are going to work in a quick, running-around-all-over-the-place kind of environment. For example, other than healing items, think of things that may give the player a boost or hinder the enemies--maybe even environmental things. Think outside the box.

All I have so far is:

- Healing items
- A revival item that automatically activates when you die (yeah, pretty much like the fairy in a bottle from Zelda)
- A barrier item that protects the player from 2 opposing attacks, and finally...
- Two items, one that permanently increases HP, and the other MP

Whichever suggestions I like best I'll place into the "items" tab of the game page. Also, I'll put your name in the credits at the end of the game in something like a special thanks section. Thanks, ahead of time for your input, folks!

Now, onto the demo-thing. I'm pretty sure some of you are anxious to see how this game will play. My current plan is to make some mock stages where you guys will be able to see how the combat system will. I'll probably just do two or three stages, each with varying environmental hazards and enemy types. I'm not sure when this will be, but it's what I want to get done first and foremost before making anything else on the game.

Mitsu, out.

Progress Update #1 (5-23-11)

In these blogs, I will catalog my progress as I work on the game and what I'll be working on next, if I know exactly what aspects I'll be working on.

Accomplished so far:
- Create the Overworld
- Put together all movement events on Overworld, including their appearing animation
- Fixed bug with "collision with hero" movement events
- Make it possible to teleport between the Safehouse and the Overworld

Next to accomplish:
- Begin to make the games items in the Database
- Map out and create the events for the Bazaar
- Fix bug when teleporting to the safehosue after the first time (the custom cursor seems to appear on the screen incorrectly, even though I have tried remedying this...)
- Make the text in the Safehouse screen smaller

Since I'm going to start making the items in game soon, I'm going to create a page here on the game's profile that catalogs all of the items (already did this). Of course, I'll have to update that as I go, too, because even I don't know all of the items that will be in the game just yet. I already have some of them written down, though, so...yeah.

Also, teleporting between the Overworld and the Safehouse is pretty much flawless, except for that one bug. Damn you, RPG Maker. >_<

Anyway, that's all for now.

About "Path of Justice 2" and the state it is in.

Okay, the truth is, Path of Justice 2 has been in my projects folder for over 3 years. Yes, that's right, no joking at all.

I have barely worked on the game in the past 3 years and only have done so in short bursts of inspiration. The truth is I'd like to finish it, as it is a pretty ambitious project.

The reason I decided to post it here on RMN is because I would like this game to be completed, and, though I previously told myself that I wanted to wait until the game was near completion to post it, I'm really not sure when and if that's ever going to happen. The main reason I've decided to do so was in hopes of people liking what they saw which would hopefully give me more inspiration and incentive to work on it. But, this is all still up in the air.

So, here's the sequel to my Pac-man style game! Path of Justice 2 will feature 7 different worlds, 1 final boss world (like the Tower of Darkness from the first game), and 3 secrets worlds, all with 3 stages each and a boss fight at the end (except for the final boss world which has two boss fights and that's it)!

To read more about the game, head over to the "Features" tab.
