<tardis> 'sup, Edifice
The download is out. You should probably get it.
Well, this is it! The Edifice "demo." It's really a full game, in a sense - you can do quite a few runs, buy some stuff, talk to Demons, get your posterior Oblivion Fisted. At the same time, it's only a taste of the features, enemies and dungeon types that will be in the full release sometime this autumn.
I sincerely hope that you enjoy it.
Remember that I'll be leaving shortly after the 17th, so if you want me to hear your opinions, play it now! Review it! To get two runs done should take about seven hours, although there's easily ~15+ hours of gameplay in this demo (!!!).
Known Issues:
-The hub (Shrine of Equinox) is pretty hideous. Sorry!
-Demons only have one thing to chat about
-Score, and the special runs you can purchase with it, are not implemented
-When an ally is replaced upon death/Czarina, there is an odd graphical glitch with pop-ups; it will not hurt the game in any way
-Shop interface is kind of nasty, but very functional/understandable
-The Essence interface works just fine, but needs some tweaking/prettifying
-Souls are not in. That slot in the equip menu does nothing! You'll earn them in the full release as achievements, and they will be associated with specific characters
Nothing major, really! Have fun dying a lot, mmkay?

Definitely a fun game but some minor issues.
* When I went to save and quit to make a quicksave, the game crashed
* After clearing the first floor I had about 90 Chilly Harps and 60 Fiery Harps
* Enemies seem to jump back up on the turn order phase after sleep is lifted.
Other than that, the characters could probably use a weak attack with no cooldown, I often found myself being able to do absolutely nothing but defend a handful of times.

I have never had a crash upon making a quicksave. Can you be able more specific about what was going on, where you were, etc.?
Are those numbers exaggerating, for the harps? =P

No, I was in the earth dungeon and I made a quick save right on the second floor, not sure what it was but I know the song was sinasin.
Also it looks like the save went through even though the RGSS Player crashed.
Looks like I'm in the Triopolis Trifecta Triumverate. here is a screen shot of the inventory

I hit an essence bug too. I somehow have 88 Chipped Orbs. Some of my other essences seem to be multiplying too - I don't remember getting all of the stuff in my inventory (I suddenly have a bunch of stuff and am only on floor 2, and it's all copies of the rewards for beating everything on floor 1)
Edit: Yeah, there's no doubt my essences are multiplying. I have over 20 of everything I had before now, and I've been in two fights and have opened no chests since the last time I checked, and I had 2-3 of everything then.

i'm having the same essence problem, though not nearly to the degree these guys are! i have around 30 magical pins total though, and 2-10 of everything else i've found so far

Is this another Phylo reference?
So I got a script error (pressed space too fast, wasn't expecting it and was thinking I was choosing an attack) in a boss fight against the Czarina on Floor 5. I hadn't taken any action in the fight yet. Dunno what happened. Wish I had a better bug report, sorry.
Bug list::
(This playthrough was set to 12 floors and on the Highest Difficulty. I did not select the reprieve.)
-When selecting an item that target's all allies, in the above toggle box it say's "Target foe's" instead of "Target Ally's"
-Somehow, I have acquired over +70 Rogue Belts, 43 Chipped orbs, 28 Crooked Staffs, 70 Granite Bracers, 58 Golden Rosary's, and other several mass duplicate essences just before I started the 3rd level.
-I've made it to the sixth floor, and I still can't locate the shop.
-At one point, I was able to use item's like "Bitter Root" and what not 4 teams each per consumption. Further into the game, I was only able to use it once per consumption.
-When I go to quit the game via the system menu, the game crashes.
Now my thoughts::
-I HATE the enemies in the bookcase floor. It's by far the roughest in terms of HP damage done to the party.
-I'd love to know the cooldown for skills before I actually use them.
-I feel the "Wind Impact" skill is underpowered. The damage is alright; however, the player has no control over who it hits and the cooldown is kinda painful. This posed very troublesome for Nadia's as it's her only damaging skill in the beginning. Thus, she ended up guarding most of the time as I didn't want to waste items on normal encounters.
-I feel The "Bless" skill is VERY underwhelming. Sure, I understanding the heal needs to be low, but seriously 5HP/2EN? lol what? And it's a flat amount to. As the monsters get stronger and stronger, that 5HP heal begins to feel alot more meaningless. Fortunately, I do like how it heals regardless if the characters takes damage from a hit or not.
-Music is great! Nice selection.

I made it to the 6th floor before "GAME OVER". IIRC, I fought the Sand worm first, Phoenix next, 2-wisps 1-Ghost third, Quezacotl fourth, 2-wisps 1-Ghost (again) 5th, and I never got to the last boss on the 6th floor. 4hr 45min playthrough.

Huh, these are some new bugs. I'm going to be very on and off for the next few days, but I'm already working on fixes asap.
Thanks, everybody, for getting to the game so quickly!

Bug list::(This playthrough was set to 12 floors and on the Highest Difficulty. I did not select the reprieve.) You are asking for severe punishment. You're meant to do that after you have some Essence under your belt and whatnot! Still, the option's there. =D
-When selecting an item that target's all allies, in the above toggle box it say's "Target foe's" instead of "Target Ally's" Fixed, I think
-Somehow, I have acquired over +70 Rogue Belts, 43 Chipped orbs, 28 Crooked Staffs, 70 Granite Bracers, 58 Golden Rosary's, and other several mass duplicate essences just before I started the 3rd level. I CANNOT DUPLICATE THIS ahhhhh
-I've made it to the sixth floor, and I still can't locate the shop. It's in the between-run hub, not in the dungeon itself (this is something I want to change in the full release).
-At one point, I was able to use item's like "Bitter Root" and what not 4 teams each per consumption. Further into the game, I was only able to use it once per consumption. Each Bitter Root has quite a few charges. Check the little number on the icon itself for charges on that remaining instance of the item.
-When I go to quit the game via the system menu, the game crashes. Looking into this
Now my thoughts::
-I HATE the enemies in the bookcase floor. It's by far the roughest in terms of HP damage done to the party. Nerfed!
-I'd love to know the cooldown for skills before I actually use them. I bet. This is already noted for the full release
You should waste them, you hoarding bastard! I mean, Wind Impact's damage just got a bump up. Its CD/cost is standardized, but hopefully that'll make it a little nicer.
It is now 8/4!
-Music is great! Nice selection. =D
I personally like some of your low-tier characters, and once you start buying skills for everybody it should be evened out a bit. Everybody except me dislikes Nadia, though. :<
Fun fact: some characters (Ulyssa, Wish) rip apart mobs, but are mediocre for bosses. Some characters (Nadia, Seth) are mediocre for mobs but rip apart bosses. Something to keep in mind!
If anybody can give me more information on the Essence gain bug (when it started, was it all at once or a gradual increase, etc.) that would be wonderful. I cannot get it to happen for me, and it didn't happen to any of my testers, at least two of whom were incredibly intensive.

-Fixed, alongside somebody else's crash-on-return-to-title error (at least, on my end =/ )
-Yeeeeaaaahhhh, still really stuck on this. I cannot replicate it at all
-They were in the middle of something! It's like taking a micronap while driving.
The essence bug seems to be related to the equip system, looks like the last four or so slots get emptied out for some odd reason when switching characters I presume.

It's not about healing. You do not get 'real' healing. Forget about healing. Bless is
* Enemies seem to jump back up on the turn order phase after sleep is lifted.Because Sleep doesn't knock you out of the turn order, it just puts you on 'pause'

Bless is-5-8 damage taken per hit, and you regenerate Energy. Use it on your energy-intensive casters.
The EN healing portion is fine, but you cannot justify taking a huge damage hit (I'm talking about damage in the 100's up) and only decreasing it by a mere 5HP. It's a great effect that'll help conserve EN in the long run, but the HP heal
