There is now a website you can use to share your custom content with other users! But you're still welcome to use this page to share and discuss content.

Below is a list of finished custom (user-made) content. To add these characters, in most cases you can extract the downloaded file to the game's main directory and you're set. Depending on how the author has organized them, it may be necessary to move files to the appropriate directories. (Custom content has not been tested by me)
Note: After new content has been added, old saves won't be compatible.

If you have posted custom content in this thread, I will (eventually) add your link to the list above, along with a small screenshot if you have included one. Be sure to test your content in-game before posting.

Helpful things:

--> Medium build girl, the .psd that was used to create the built-in characters, is available with layer names in English.

--> Not feeling artistic? You can use any of these images for making custom characters.

--> Notepad++ with syntax highlighting for Heartache 101 can be a big help with story creation.

--> If you are writing story content that includes the appearance of existing characters (built-in or custom), the following list may be of reference:
ID 0 = The Player
ID 1 = Nakajima Miki
ID 2 = Ikeda Keika
ID 3 = Onishi Tsubasa
ID 4 = Kaneshiro Shihoko
ID 5 = Kaneshiro Riho

This counts as interest as far as I'm concerned:D I'll get to it right on:)

I'm behind custom content 100%, but you piqued my interest when you mentioned including Shoko in your story for this character. The one who made 21 Ways hasn't been around of late, but both flowerthief and I shall try our best to answer whatever questions you may have about the other characters you wish to include!
I'm glad both of you are eager to help:D I guess in that case Shoko will take over 21's place (tho I do not really know how that will work out story-wise. 21 and Shoko are rather, khm, different, so to say...) who will get the small part I intended for Shoko originally. Now that I think of it, it makes a bit more sense too. I wanted 21 and Kyouki(spolier drop, hehe) to become friends because they share a similar mindset(getting her friends is an important part of her story), but 21 isn't the nicest person you can get; she might not have the patience for someone like Kyouki to become full-time pals with in 100 days. Shoko on the other hand is also similar to her, both being overly shy, tho Shoko handles it by staying quiet, apparrently much more effectively than Kyouki who may start to ramble and stutter, succumb to panic or run away if she ecounters the smallest bit of trouble. I know you can't really get that impression from the tachies I posted; I intentionally left those out(especially her "Panic Mode", I worked a big lot on that one). I hope you're fine with the idea of Shoko finding a friend, and if so, I'd like to ask your help since I can't exactly fathom her way of thinking.
I finished her profile some hours ago(I think so, at least. Does the order of locations/gifts count to anything? I felt more comfortable sorting them by name), and will get on the story soon. The beta and a vague trailer gets published when she becomes playable.

The key to understanding Shoko's mindset is that, in a sense, she's a reflection of her creator. Thus, she'd be hard to write for without that insight. Some of the commentary in her story file might try to relay a portion of this insight, but I'm not sure how effective it is at relaying it. The "when in doubt, make stuff up" rule may apply here.
It's a right good thing you're around then:) I've already read the commentary in her files, but they did not help much, honestly. I too gave Kyouki a bit of myself, her mental shortcomings. She has Infantile HPD, a personality disorder I got 'blessed with' back in the day(Good riddance Mother Nature) and I thought it would be easier to keep her realistic and interesting if I gave her a problem I'm familiar with. Hers is a much more severe case though, and that combined with her shyness made her frighteningly bipolar. If you google the disorder you can get a pinch of what she is like, saves me some explaining.
Of course new characters are always welcome :) They're the reason the game was made.

I should state honestly that because I have spent so many hours playtesting and debugging the game, I can hardly stand to actually play it any more myself (also, I have an unrelated project under way now) so I can't promise feedback, but I'm dedicated to continuing to give support for technical matters.

The order doesn't matter, but when you say you sorted them, you mean by editing the profiles file directly? I just wanna check nothing is amiss since it shouldn't be necessary to view or edit the contents of a profiles file outside of the Character Customizer.
The order doesn't matter, but when you say you sorted them, you mean by editing the profiles file directly?

Yeah, I prefer typing the code over editors. Habit.

Also, Marrend? Now that I'm playing again (so to test Kyouki), I noticed something more than disturbing. Don't you think were a bit pushie to put the Player on Shoko's route? The only way to escape from it is to piss her off big time. I mean, it's not just convienent to go for her; it's impossible not to. Literally. You don't have to do anything, it just...happens. No matter what you do. And way too fast. With no time/affection limits or location-specific events on the whole thing save for the last event I basically got RUSHED trough it without even wanting to talk to her. Chances are you get to the "big callout" before you managed to figure out what she likes(or had a chance to even ask), much less got your Personality hit 50. Hell, I got there before discovering the Fishing location! And it's not only her, I got beaten up by Mayu too, and I haven't even talked to her outside of planned events before! All this within the first two weeks no less! How can you espect someone to pass those checks without cheating when they barely have time to breath in-between scenes? Mathematically speaking, you would have to get lucky or plan ahead(even harder for first try when you don't even know what they want without asking) to be even able to in Easy mode. Normal mode playthrough requires either a miracle or the blessing of the Random God, with getting tons of question marks, Takuya events and Grandma Gifts all boosting either Personality or Athletics if you want to get both endings, and is still way too hard(not the 'Oh God that Boss is strong! Challenge!' kind of hard, it's the 'Why do I have to type in a 24 character long pass every time I want to log in' kind of hard) and requires careful planning what you should not even know how to do at that point if not. Depending on how many Miki/Keika/whoever-girl-you-have-met events you get before the check, getting Shoko in Hard mode may be right out of the window without the player making a single mistake. This is just mean.

I was somewhat aware that Mayu might go too fast for her own good. I may have been vaguely aware that Shoko might go by inhumanly fast too. I'm not really sure what to do on that front. If my experience with Emiko means anything, it is that having a PRIORITY be anything other than NORMAL means that you're going to get the event, provided that the conditions are met.

Of course, I shouldn't talk at all. I'm a terrible person who abused my knowledge of certain cheat codes to get the outcome I desired. *hangs head in shame*
See? Cheat codes corrupt! Good thing I asked you guys not to tell me!:D
It's okay, everyone's been there. I was, in any case. How about getting her route in shape together?

I suppose I could alter the story for Mayu and Shoko (Izumi too?) in an attempt to slow things down. It would highly depend on how serious I was with this post. I basically have until the end of the week to make any determination, but I've a funny feeling I'm going to follow through with the madness.
Madness I have way too much. Again, good to have you.

Now I don't know what time zone you live in, but it's the middle of the night here. Willing to start now or let's leave it at that for a while?

EDIT: Scratch that last part, I'm sleepy enough as it is. See you tommorow.
I was only able to do some bug- and misspellfix today, but I'll get the rest of the week off(NATIONAL HOLIDAY, HO!) so I should be able to release something of worth soon.

I've been thinking quite a bit on Uchioniko for perhaps good reason and how to make them more plausible for regular play. Some stream-of-consciousness:

Mayu's first stat-check is an "autorun". Which is to say that the player makes no decision here. The best way to allow the player time to prepare for this, is for a CONDITION = DAY 15 line, or something like it. Her next check the player gets to choose to train against her or not. Maybe CONDITION = DAY 31?

Shoko's first (and only) stat-check is a decision made by the player. Huh. Dunno.

All right, forget this. Why don't I make the first event that leads to a "love flag" for each of these girls have CONDITION = DAY 20, whereas the second event can be DAY 50. That should give players time to mess around. Right?
I like it! It'll fit Shoko's route perfectly. She might just be in love with the player already, but still won't say a word until convinced... I think it's a nice touch. Not sure about Mayu's but it's your call in the end.
I think we still should rewrite a thing or two tho. Shoko's first story, for instance. There is no buildup, for one. Nobody gets interested in the silent girl if you just shove the reason into their face before they even 'talked' with Shoko. Not to mention, a one-sided conversation between her and the player only, with the latter having no clue what's going on, is hilarious. We could even force him to go on with her for weeks without giving a hint, for some laughs!:D Secondly, it comes down weird when Izumi just tells her best friend's whole backstory to someone she barely knows. We should give it a Friendly requirement from both girls and/or change the dialog. There could be a Decision like this:
A: (Personality)Ask about Shoko
B: Don't push the matter
It's not like you need to know this to pursue Shoko, but then it's also not a suppository to hear about it, is it? And now that I think of it, if we gave the friendly requirement to this particular story, it'd also make the starting weeks a bit less crowded, especially with clean mode off.
You also asked me about Izumi's route. The pace of it is just fine, but story-wise a tad bland. Maybe an alternate way to get the ticket if you mess up the first time? Looking for a dealer, getting into a fight, that sort of thing, and a talk with Izumi afterwards during which she hears what the player went through just to get the ticket?:D Just an idea, like I said, it's your call.

EDIT: Writing Kyouki's story takes WAY more time than I tought:/ I have all the time in the world but somehow I can only write one and a half story a day and the rest is spent on polishing the others because somehow they never fit the new one completely. I guess the 'soon' I promised is gradually turning into a Blizzard-style 'soon(TM)'. Sorry about that. Also, still no idea if I should put a theme together myself(and if so, with what?) or dl a freeware one. Sugestions?

Making more events is something I want to avoid, as things could get messy. Having Izumi be at least FRIENDLY (or perhaps LIKE) with the player for her to relay Shoko's background is an option I like, though.

As for your commentary about Izumi, her first significant event is partially linked to Mayu's first significant event. With the re-write, it would automatically happen sometime after DAY 20. As for getting more chances to get the concert ticket, maybe one of the sequences on the roof with Izumi could be an option? I dunno. My mind is directed more toward the RPG rather than the Heartache 101 character package.
If you're occupied witrh something else we can leave it at that for a while. I'm just pointing out some annoyances, neither of these are gamebreaking. No need to rush. It'll just end up as worse if your mind is somewhere else and still do it anyway.

EDIT: Any ideas about that music thing?
If one wanted to, I suppose there would be nothing stop one from rewriting, revamping, or otherwise modifying content created by another user and uploading it as a mod of a mod. That goes for the Built-in content as well!

I don't know if that's a good thing to do. But even if I decide so I'd rather finish my own first before meddling with other people's stuff THAT much. It think it's better if Marrend has a word in it. Maybe I can tell a story better(emphasis on 'maybe' since I have nothing to show you yet), but in the process I might shift the characters into something they were never intended to be.<-- not nice. It'd be like if someone took the Mona Lisa and painted Kuchisake-onna's mouth over her smile. Worse if it becomes more popular than the original.

Not sure when you said that, but whatever. Moot point. Anyway, what I do on the music front is get stuff from my personal library. Which generally happens to be a bunch of stuff from commercial games.

I can understand where you're coming from, and respect this point of view. That said, I don't think I put too much at risk putting the Aoi cameo into Joruri. I haven't gotten much feedback on it, but if Nekochi comes in and says something like, "That's not Aoi, this is", I'd be obliged to change it.
