This is a 2011 RMN Summer Games Contest Entry!

One regular day like all the others, a young boy decides to play a prank upon his younger child sister.
Little did he know that inside her toys chest, a magical talisman was contained that would transport him into her coloring book!
Now he has to escape from the magical world inside, trying to survive all the crazy creations of his sister's mind!

Features:
- Highly varied stages from each of the chapters of the coloring book
- Crazy environments
- Lots of puzzles

Note: The game is very short (around 10 minutes).
We had little time but wanted to give "surrealism" a shot.

Feel free to post your opinions!
Thanks to everyone!

Cool! Thanks to the mods for accepting this.
We are going for the "Surrealist Alice in Wonderland" vibe...
It should be a fun experience!

Alrighty! Submitted the game download.
The game is very visual-novely like.
There are battles, but they are not the focus.
There are puzzles, but they should not be very hard.

So, if anyone gives it a try (when and if it is approved) let us know!

Just played it, really sweet, really easy, really short, yes sort of a ulta short Alice in Wonderland, not bad!(not too surrealist, I'd say?!).

thanks a lot for the post!
We would have liked to work harder and explore more "by-the-book" definitions of surrealism, but time constraints have left us with this.

We went with recurrent objects in weird places, and child toys in unusual uses (teddy bear bombs? bunny bosses?).

It´d say just a couple of parts could become tricky, but "hard" is not definitely the aim of this game.

Maybe put a lego block in for the apostrophe?
Finished playing the game and wrote up a quick review. It's submitted and awaiting approval.

Thanks BareGamer! Hopefully we get more than 0 stars haha! :o
BurningTyger nice suggestion, I'll mention it to the "art director" Epischdrew :p
Just played the game, and I thought it was very cute and very well done. It really felt like a short Alice and Wonderland style game, although it was lighter in some ways and darker in others. Very well done, I only wish it were longer! :)

Didn't find a bug here. Guessing the review is still going through the process...

thanks for the bug report... !
well my reviews always took a couple of days to get approved, if yours still says "pending" I'm sure it will be approved
Also posted a review, good game!
I liked the game. Really cool and creative environments and characters.
The way of choosing the hero class is also very interesting.
The bad thing is the game is very small. If it was a bit longer (like 45 minutes +/-) it would be really really good!
Good work, good game ;)
Curious... what script did you use for the battle system? Didn't see it mentioned in the credits and I wouldn't mind getting my hands on it.

Now that you mention it, there is one script I used. But it's just the level up notifier. I'll add that to the credits.

The "side-view" battle system is just the default RMXP one, with the coordinates for the player battlers modified to be in the upper right area of the screen, instead of down there where they normally are.

Wow, even though it was pretty short, this was a pretty damn good game.

Just a remark, Epischdrew is not the talkative type, not 1 word.... even for his solo game?!

Edit : imo, the judges missed out on that one, it should have been amongst the winners, as an ex-aequo second place or third, why not, well... I guess that's water under the bridge.

Recently did a play-though of this. I think the only complaint I have is: Were Fire Woman and Weird Dreams the only games that allow saving anywhere? I don't mean to say that this game requires constant saving (it doesn't), but I wonder why the other games disallowed saving except at certain points?

Actually, that's somewhat untrue. I had a bit of trouble with the riddles (I confess to looking them up, then realized what the "hint" of the riddles were), but otherwise, I had a fun time in Sister's Storybook. Did it hit the Alice in Wonderland vibe this game seemed to want to hit? Perhaps. Whatever it's aims, this came off to me more as something of a coming-of-age story: The realization by the brother of his own feelings for his sister.
