Release Imminent...is an unintentionally dirty-sounding phrase.

Get your mind out of the gutter.

Just sos you know, I plan on making the first public release of this game later tonight. It may be in the wee hours of the morning (US EST Timezone). But I believe that it will happen. When it does, there will be another blog post drawing your attention to some hints and tips, to a few known bugs--I haven't been able to hammer them out, but they shouldn't interfere too much with your enjoyment--and to some general info on the release.

So, GENTLEMEN ARE YOU READY TO ...craft....stuff i guess?

Is it ready...?
No, it's too sooooooooonnnnnnn!!!!
In all seriousness, I do wonder if it's ready. Is it the version I and(probably) the others have? Or, a newer version? If so, what's new about it?

Um, obviously it has been polished a lot after receiving all of the feedback from the testers and stuff. I actually wound up sending out three updates to various testers so I'm not sure exactly which one you have. Testing was NOT super well organized.

I don't have a complete codified list of changes from the very first alpha version but here's some of them:

* Combat Slightly Rebalanced (overall slightly easier)
* Monster Bait/Monster Repellent
* Random Encounter Indicator
* New Shop Scene
* New Status Scene
* Water bug fixed (albeit disabling the return of your empty jar for the moment).
* Hintscreen/Loading Screen added.
* Various ergonomic tweaks.
* Various bugfixes (pickaxe back in tool shop etc.)
* Kitchen now starts open.
etc.

I haven't got each and every typo fixed but I'm not that worried about that kind of thing at this stage.

Well most of those were minor fixes (decrease attack of each enemy by 1 point) or involved plugging in other people's scripts (shop scene, status scene). The rest just took a little eventing. Once you have the basic skeleton or infrastructure of a game in place, it's fairly easy to make specific changes.

But as I mentioned elsewhere I'm very serious about this project.
