This is the story that Jaquio: Angel of Death is based on. Keep in mind that the game is not a direct representation of the story, but there are overlapping scenes, dialogue, locations and characters. This is only a sample; all chapters have been chopped and truncated. The entire story will not be released, however, I'll continue to share snippets of the book as I release updates of the game.

-==Chapter 1 (Cont)==-
All thoughts ceased to exist as they sat patiently in the darkness. Hours passed and still the alarm rang loudly in their ears. Jaquio yawned, his breath felt hot on Jesse's neck. He grinned maliciously at her. "How much longer do you think we'll have to hide in this air duct?" He waited patiently for Jesse's reply.
"The weapon is on this floor. We just have to get passed all the guards. Have any ideas?"
Jaquio ignored her. He pulled out his WT900. "Briggs! Briggs come in, it's Jaquio."
"You can't reach him, we're too far underground." She began pounding on the vent covering until it fell, clattering to the ground. "Stay here. I'll lead them towards the surface while you get the weapon." She looked at her watch. "We have thirty minutes."
He nodded his head.
With several shoves with his solidly built shoulder the door gave loose. He stepped inside pointing his gun into the darkness. He could sense a threat hiding in the silence. Without hesitation he began firing repeatedly around the room. For a while he stood motionless, listening. Flipping the light switch, he began examining the room.
Jaquio quickly snapped his head back. A reflection of light grabbed his attention. It came from the far side of the room. It was a golden cube, not even larger than the palm of Jaquio's hand. It glowed strongly like the north star. His fingers touched the small object, it was perpetually cold. This must be it. He pocketed the weapon and rushed out of the room.
He could feel his heart starting to beat faster with every step towards the elevator that stood at the end of the hall. The minute he stepped into the elevator, the whole base seemed to come to life. Exiting the elevator he pinned himself against the wall. The ear piercing shriek still pounded his ears. Then suddenly all sound was broken by a mournful cry. Jaquio recognized who it was immediately. Jesse! He wanted to go back and help her, but it would be useless. Instead he bowed his head in prayer. If there are, in fact, angles in heaven, he reflected. Please welcome her now.
Time was insistent in Jaquio's mind. Forty seconds left. Hurry! Jaquio lunged himself over the wall. He was running so fast now, that it seemed his feet never touched the ground. Twenty seconds, nineteen seconds, eighteen, seventeen.
He slowed down. The exertion of running was taking toll on his body. He staggered around in the desert sand. His legs now too heavy to move. Three. Two. One. The sand beneath him began to tremble. Suddenly an eroding blast towered above him. With one hand, he shielded his eyes.
"Briggs!"
"Jaquio!? Are you alright?"
"Yeah, just a little out of breath, that's all." He swallowed hard. "I have the weapon, get someone out here."
"They're on their way. Well done, Jaquio. Well done."
