Sorry, I'm going to put this here but it concerns "dozens" of vx(eventually ace) games : I find it hard to relate those very fancy facesets with these tiny characters with not much detail, here a noseless woman with grey, not blue hair, who seems to be shutting her eyes actually. Wouldn't these facesets be more adequate for a visual novel? I know it has become a fad to do this here (probably to compensate the "impossible" default characters), I'm not convinced it's a great solution.

This said, nothing to do with your game in particular, nice map but a bit empy.
To answer your question on the facesets, it's what comes stock with the game. Those are both stock facesets and stock characters being used in this screenshot.

I guess so, if the art style looks odd/wrong to you. I personally like the art style used for both the sprites and the facesets.

You sir, are an idiot, and are deluded by modern gaming.

If you have a good look at many COMMERCIAL games pre-2000, facesets rarely matched. Why? Because they're two different mediums. Facesets allow for artistic expression which can't necessarily be matched with sprites. Final Fantasy 6 and 7 come to mind!! In fact the two areas ALMOST NEVER HAVE THE SAME PERSON WORKING ON THEM.
I'm not even sure how you'd fix that without a ridiculous amount of work.
So calling it a "fad" is stupid. There's a reason behind it and saying "-1 VX" is retarded.

Oh, and don't forget to mention the fact that sprites can't portray a character 100% with every single detail because you're working in sizes as small as 32X32 pixels, so detailed facesets allow the player to see what characters actually look like. It adds to the game experience- and it's not something restricted to visual novels. RPGs aare about taking the role of someone, and know who you're travelling with or portraying in recognizable detail allows the player to feel a bit more connected to the character.

No use getting so upset about it. I just don't like it, and find it ,personally, uninteresting, imo.

Sucky excuse. It is possible to have XP charsets, if you're willing to learn how (convert to 3 frames, and re-add transparency) and willing to work hard.
Considering I don't own XP, I don't have the rights to those charsets. This is my first RPGmaker software purchase. I'm also not making an excuse, I actually LIKE the stock visuals that VX Ace comes with. Don't know why you're jumping all over me here in a several month old discussion, no point in necroing it.
