Ready or not here it comes!

My goal was to create a roguelike that could be enjoyed by people who are new to or don't often mess with the genre. By presenting an intriguing story, a visual interface, few stats that need to be kept track of, simple help screens that explain the game, graphics and sound well above the standard for freeware roguelikes, controls optimized for joysticks, and two modes of play, it is my hope that it will be a game anyone can jump into regardless of whether they have ever enjoyed a roguelike before or even know what one is. It is, to my knowledge, the only full-blown roguelike to have been made on an RPG Maker, but it will also be, perhaps, one of the friendliest free roguelikes available for any platform.

Considering that only one person other than myself has played through Story Mode and that nobody other than myself has played through Survival Mode, I feel that the game is severely undertested. I've done my best to eliminate bugs, but game balance is difficult to improve without more testers to give feedback. I suppose there just may not be much interest in the project. Anyway, next month I'm leaving the mainland and will be away from my computer for an indefinite amount of time, so I had better move forward now.

Presenting a roguelike for people who don't normally play roguelikes:
