Demo coming on Sunday! (first blog entry ever)

Hey, all! The game has been up for about a day or so now and I thought it would be a good time to make my first blog!
In case you didn't know, I'm pretty new around here(joined this Thursday). So far, RMN seems great and I'm really satisfied with how I can submit my game here and post updates and report progress here so easily! Everything works perfect and I can't wait to release my demo to the audience here. One of the reasons why I joined RMN was because I wanted a good place to show my game on this site really seemed to offer what I'm looking for!
What's happening currently with the game is that I'm planning on releasing a demo for it on Sunday! It's a demo I've previously released but not too many has tried I think. The difference is that this is going to be an updated version of the demo with lots of fixes with bugs, eventing and a whole new area to explore! I'm beta testing this myself and I can really say that it takes some time to just go through a demo from scratch.
I'll probably have it done later today or so(yes, it is 01: 06 AM where I am at the moment so I might seem a little tired if you guys are wondering).
Anyways, I wanted to ask what you people think of the game/game profile so far. Does it looks goood or is something missing? I know I'm still updating but you gotta ask if you're searching for an answer!
Hopefully I will get a lot of progress done next week when I don't have to worry about the demo too much. Stay tuned for the demo then and have a good day/night!

The profile looks pretty good.
I'll give the game a nice LT, once it's up.
But how long will the demo be?

Looks pretty cool.
If you do the tutorial and he wakes up in his room ...cant remember his name...when you go out the game freezes. If you dont do the tutorial it just plays as normal.
The usual grammar, spelling problems but not enough to be worrisome. The dialogue flow seems a bit quirky, not smooth, maybe its a transaltion problem? Once you know what the red crystals do it seems a waste to have to repeat what its purpose is each time. The idea of different crystals is good, it does make you think ahead a bit.
It seems redundant to have an arrow pointing at obvious things like doors.
The first ogre is a bit much even with the water spell ( which has saved my arse numerous times....yay water spell ) with over 4000hp and he hits like an SOB as well. Unless I missed something along the way which might help.
Intervals between scenes takes a bit too long...you almost begin to think the game has frozen but its just going to the next scene. Like when you talk to a merchant and the scene changes to look at the supplies, etc.
Like I said it seems a pretty cool little endeavor so far!

One thing about the arrows...I think it would be best for us all if one is consistent with teleport arrows.
Otherwise, it will confuse the player. And that is something the arrows are trying to avoid.
But nice mini-review and I'll keep it in mind while LTing the game.
@Roy: I didn't really understand everything what you wrote but I'll try to asnwer as good as I can. First off, what tutorial are you taking about? And the game freezes? That didn't happen when I tested it... I know my grammar isn't the best since English isn't my first language but I'm trying my best on making it as grammar free as possible. If you're talking about the small pauses in the dialogue box, those are there for a reason. About those "waits" and "pauses", I have made them a lot shorter than the last versiom. Having those pauses between texts and scenes are just something I like to have and I think it gives the game a different flow rather then having no waits at all. You're right about the red crystals, I'll fix those. Arrows are infront of doors because some are opened and some are locked. I know the Ogre is tough, but that's the way I want my bosses to be. Tough and scary as hell because they can really f*ck you up if you don't plan your moves. Tough bosses are also more remembered. I might make the Ogre a little easier if more people are starting to have problems with him.
Thanks for your critism!
Thanks for your critism!
I go over some of his problems. My MAIN issue was those pauses though.
Good god, lol...
And about the bosses. I don't think it's a very good idea to make the boss too hard with only one character. Now If I had another dude to back my ass up with rezing, then that problem is null, but how it is now, the game might suffer from hard beginning-easy middle-(???) End game.
It should be easy beginning- here-and-there middle- hard end game.
Also, of course, make sure to add what I like to call break dungeons where everything is simple for the player. This allows said player to feel like a pro, and feel like he’s really being something to be reckoned with. It’s a VERY nice feeling in RPGs, and it seems as though this is a pro tip that very few people use :P
…Not that I’m saying you won’t. I just don’t know yet.
I'll upload my video on YouTube in an hour or so.
Lets see....I went and did it again to make sure I wasnt daydreaming here at midnight. The same thing occurred. If you choose to watch the tutorial when it comes to where EDGE is in his room and starts talking about nightmares from the castle, after he says " I cant work in this weather" the screen goes black and this message appears: CO3 DEMO V2 UNABLE TO FIND FILE GRAPHICS/PARALLAXES/CAVE.
Given it may be my computer and not a glitch at all. In any case, if you choose not to play the tutorial and go straight to the game it works just fine.
Always in every game there are spelling, grammar errors etc and to be expected. Even in the final polished versions it is amazing to still find them. I applaud your making it in English in the first place and an excellent job, but I was just saying that the translation isnt as smooth as it might be and a simple fix to just have someone look at it. I REALLY hope I didnt offend you for making that comment, it surely wasnt meant to sound mean. In spite of what I have mentioned, it is easily understood what youre attempting to get across.
The OGRE: I am thinking at LVL8 it isnt reasonable to think I can whup ass him. Maybe by LVL10 a new spell pops up making it more doable. But at 5000HP and devestating attacks he is a hard nut to crack.
I was surprised after buying a map for the shrine...or did I find it?...and getting the goodies on the map, I stumbled onto a bush which gave me a coin. The map just gives location to the things youd find anyway more or less while exploring? This coin wasnt shown. I better bump into everything!
After all this I want to reiterate that it is a very good game so far and am enjoying it a whole freaking bunch. Kudos!

Gee and to think OGRE was a tough cookie...I barely beat him and am NOW at MEDUSA with over 11,000 HP. I am crying for the OGRE now! This will surely take a lot of grinding! I just hope a level up somewhere will give a spell to help deal with her, if it keeps like this the next boss will be 22,000 HP. Maybe the next bunch of regular monsters will be different and give more EXP/MONEY. Keeping us on our toes, Luiishu!

Sweet lord :3
I might have to continue making some videos now that I heard that, lol.
for now, here's my videos. The LT will be up on the site soon~
I found out why the missing cave/parallax error appeared. For some weird reason, it was included in my RTP so I thought that it would be like that for others but it seems like my rtp is different from yours. I'm wondering if I should just put up the file in the download section or make a new updated version.
Yeah, the Ogre is tough and so is the Medusa Queen. In order to be the golem, you need to be atleast level 5(you don't have be lv. 7 and know windara to beat this guy). Basicly, what you have to do is rely on your defence and items. Use Armor Bless to boost your defence and when the ogre goes beserk, guard or heal with cure or an potion if you're hp is weak. Just to that and keep spamming him with water. If you've found any gold coins, understand that you can sell those goodies for 500 gold each. This will help you get more gold and you should spend your gold on items like: Potions, Mana Water, Silence Flower and Bombs.
On Medusa Queen, you don't need to boos your defence all the time, just make sure to hit her with Windara all the time and when your MP is out, use a mana water and keep doing that. You'll also need to use Antidotes whenever you get poisoned because poison is the skill you should be ready for in this battle, since it's one of her main moves.
I might make them a little easier in the future but I'm not too sure. Each boss fight has its own tactic to beat and you just need to learn to know the boss and not get too risky. You don't have to grind HARDCORE in the game. The last level you should get to in this demo is 7, that's all that's needed.
Either way, I'll have to do something about the Cave parallax error. I have fixed it and it's no problem it's just so that I'm wondering if I should just upload the cave parallax image or if I should upload a new version. Is it possible to replace the current download with a new one without losing Download counts?
Sorry for the late reply, yesterday was a busy day and when I got home, the interent was down :/

Well..................knowing ahead of time there is always a method to beating bossesI tried to bull my way through MEDUSA which naturally got me whipped each time. But listening to Luiishu's advice, I actually beat the Beyatch in almost no time.
Thank you.
But suddenly the end of the demo was reached w/o a chance to save. If this is just the demo will we be able to use the save files (still have to beat MEDUSA again though)?
I am tempted to play the new fixed demo and see how it goes.
When will the next srep come and will it be a completed version?
Thanks for a good game. Luiishu!
