BACKGROUND
Several months ago, 'Grey', an infamous assassin from a faraway land, was ordered to murder an important politician. Unfortunately, the plan backfired, resulting in a narrow escape that permanently damaged Grey's right knee in the process, forcing him to quit.

With prospects at an all-time low due to his getting by in years and a shady job history, Grey resorted to partipating in a multi-level marketing scheme...which predictably enough, has now gone horribly wrong.

With a vicious landlord on his case and little luck at the local job centre, Grey sees a bleak future...until he runs into a headstrong young man named Jerome, full of ambition and revolutionary ways, who wishes to inspire a 'grassroots' movement against the country's corrupt government...starting with the kidnapping of the local mayor.

Due to the promise of riches, Grey accepts Jerome's proposal, and together with Lu, a crafty dwarf who jumps at any chance to cause chaos, and Kathy, a dancer shrouded in mystery, they set out to devise a foolproof scheme that would ultimately bring the town to its knees.

...things don't work out as planned. But you know that already, don't you?

FEATURES
- Sacrilegious use of FFVI graphics.
- Black comedy and strong language throughout. Not for the easily offended.
- Slightly modified version of the DBS (bite me), with each character having a unique set of skills available from the start.
- Funk/jazz soundtrack.
- Rampant fourth wall breaking.
- That's about it.

It ain't over till the fat chocobo sings

Oh wow YM is writing something RM-related seriously???

Yeah, I just wanted to mention that I haven't completely given up on this project yet. Admittedly, progress is slow (like, REALLY slow - I have only just started sorting out the first battle sequence), but ultimately, this is a project I'm probably going to continue working on until the bitter end.

Reasons?

1. Gotta Clean Up The World is the most passionate I've been about any of my project ideas to date. At the risk of sounding arrogant, I truly believe I can achieve something fairly unique and interesting (and who knows, maybe even funny) with this one, and as such, I'm likely to have a constant trickle of motivation carrying me through the darkest times - like a happy version of the River Styx.

2. It's been about...seven and a half years since I started messing around with RM, and to date I have not completed even a single project (okay, so I've done a few competition games here on RMN, but those don't really count, do they?). I'd feel like the world's biggest poseur if I ended up never actually, like, creating something throughout the time I've been around the community. Therefore, it's high time I, uh, whipped my own ass into shape and got this show on the road, so to speak.

Honestly, this was written more for myself than anyone else, but I just wanted to put my feelings on e-paper...so beware, world, Yellow Magic the RMer is here to stay! ..for the forseeable future, anyway...

Well I guess it depends on how you define jazz. For example, this is the opening theme (notice the title heh) which captures the essence of what I'm aiming for beautifully.
Nice title btw. How long is the game? I'm playing Raciela (soooo pretty *o*) and Hero's Realm atm soooo >.>

Cheers! In terms of solid gameplay, I've only got about 15 minutes of dialogue in atm so there's still a shedload of work to be done. Thought making a game profile would help keep me motivated, so fingers crossed I actually finally create a full project. I'm aiming for a couple of hours worth of gameplay so it shouldn't be impossible.

Never heard of Raciela, and Hero's Realm is one of those things I keep picking up and dropping. Should really get around to playing it seriously sometime.
Raciela is a pirate-themed rpg! Plus it's custom! :D There's a gamepage of it here, you definitely should check it out (although it's still 1 episode atm.) Also I have no idea where I should go next on HR. >.>

By the looks of it, this game will probably be like: dialogues >>> battles right? I don't think I can take much grinding anymore .__.

You'll need more than 'Custom' to convince me to play it..then again, I like pirates. Might check it out sometime.

Yeah, dialogue/cutscenes are probably going to make up the most of the game, followed by exploration (the setting is a large town which you're free to travel in most of the time), and then battles. At any rate, there will definitely be no grinding; no experience or the like to be gained from battles, just money.
I definitely want to play a game made by you!

...Hour Challenges don't count.
