A Feast of Features

So! It's been long enough since I last gave the goods on my game. What has been done?

  • Sound effects for when player attacks and when an enemy is killed! (Hand-picked from the awesome freesound.org.)
  • True 8-way control with the numpad!
  • Some sprite redesign/touch-ups, and more animation on player sprites!
  • Potions and scrolls are generated with random default names, and change to their ID'd names upon identification!
  • You can use several types of potions! (This goes a LONG way to making it feel like a true game, along with having to eat to survive.)
  • Slight improvements to the GUI/HUD.


Features still to come:
  • Class-dependent "Intuit" function, which will tell you about an item based on your speciality, at the cost of MP. More to come.
  • A cooking skill.
  • Weapons and armor should go from "fine" to "crude" with use.
  • "Look" function.
  • Custom mouse cursor, and icon for the .exe.
  • Many, many more monsters (including bosses) and items.

Holy crap, you have been busy! Wish I could say the same lol.
8 way control is awesome! I added that for FH2 and it's amazing how much of a difference it makes getting from place to place.
Haha, yeah, busy in this regard anyway :D It helps to have absolutely no life!

Actually did have 8-way control before, but you had to use the two arrow keys... which incidentally I never would have put up with in the original Ragnarok =P I've added other alternate keys if you should be so lucky as to have a full keyboard (though I'm not, so I don't remember what they are).
