Finally Complete

Besides a couple of script bugs which I'm waiting for fixes for, Zendir 2: A World Reborn is complete! The full game should be out within a week, depending how long it takes for people to give me the bug fixes.

The story is quite interesting but I found near the end it gets very complicated in terms of how it all ties together. What I'm thinking of doing is providing an ending explanation in a video or block of text that is optional to read (and only best to read once you've finished the game and if you don't understand the ending) so that people can fully enjoy the third and final game in the series...

Zendir 3: Scourge of the Netherworld!

That's right, I've already started work on the third and final game whilst waiting on the fixes for 2. It's actually proving a lot harder to keep up the drive now, but that's probably because I've already burnt thousands of hours into RPG Maker. I think the second game might actually be better than the third at this rate... but never mind, I've thrown in some graphical treats in the third. It shouldn't take as long as the second to make anyway, it's meant to be short. Zendir 2's got a total playtime of 6 hours!

That's it - a world will soon be reborn!

Progress Report

Quality over Quantity

I've now watched two people perform a game-breaking-bug-free playthrough of Zendir 2's demo. There are only a couple of logic bugs, one or two graphic bugs and... that's it. Zendir 2 performs perfectly. I've already fixed the bugs. But what do you think the two reviewers/players said? The first (Chigoo) has yet to finish, but when he finished part 2 of his video (he does a lot of the battles) he said he couldn't wait to play more. The second person (DiamondandPlatinum) finished the entire demo, giving it a score of 9/10, saying they also couldn't wait for more!

So therefore begins my question of quality and quantity. It's taken me months to make at least an hour's worth of gameplay if the game is played the way through without rushing it. I have a lot of special occurrences within the game including an Earthquake Run and a hiding sequence. These occurrences allow the game's true spirit to shine through without detracting from the story.

Therefore, it may not be until Summer that I have a substantial amount of content within the game. I've made a couple of minutes worth more, which comes in the form of a journey between towns. I hope the directions in the diary I've given (or that Zaphilia has written, rather) are specific enough. If not, it should still be easy to know where to go given a few sections of the map are locked off until later quests are complete.

If anyone has any questions, do let me know.
