I know you said you were aiming for 'modern' in your dialogue, but 'ya' isn't an English word. 'What do you think?' is still modern phrasing, without resorting to a misuse of register. Unless you are aiming for a Southern US Feel, in which case y'all would have been appropriate.

Well, I considered "Whaddya think?" but that bothered my internal spell check a lot. I imagined Ceal sort of combining the words But no, no southern accent.

Also, funny story with this picture, this was one of the screenshots I had when I first submitted this game, but this area looked like crap, I didn't detail anything. I imagined getting the same submission guy looking it over, and it looks way better now, and putting Ceal's quote there kind of felt like I was talking to the submission person. I'm silly, I know.
