Welcome! For those new to this project, Master of the Wind is a superhero game which takes place in the fantasy world of Solest. It is a story told in seven chapters, referred to as "arcs."

Cade Mistral and his best friend, a skeleton named "Bones," work as armor merchants in the beautiful seaside town of Port Arianna. Unbeknownst to the townsfolk, Cade also protects them as the spear-wielding wind mage known as Shroud. Bones joins him as Stoic, a mighty undead warrior who has lived through roughly one thousand years of history.

The story begins with our heroes keeping their fellow citizens safe from smaller threats like robbers or the occasional vampire. However, when larger and more organized foes begin to descend on their humble home, our heroes realize they are in for more than they bargained for. They will have to make new friends, confront deadly foes, and travel all over the world to deliver justice once and for all.

Welcome Back, Bros (and Gals)!

Solest Games is now live!

It took almost a year, but Solest Games is finally back. For those who weren’t around, the site was hacked last summer and we lost EVERYTHING! Years of articles…gone. It was depressing at the time, but it opened up the opportunity to give the site a fresh, modern look.

The site now has a sleek, more mobile friendly design. Most of the page content is the same, with the addition of a Books section that Volrath will be updating. You can still find the downloads for all our games on here.

We’re still making some final tweaks, but this is more or less the finished product. With the new site, I’ll be producing new content on a fairly regular basis. Our Mailchimp account was de-activated so if you were a subscriber you’ll have to sign up again if you want to receive updates. We have a few projects in the works so you’ll definitely want to do that!

If you have any feedback on the site or run into any issues, please leave a comment or contact us directly. Thanks for sticking it out with us!

its only said that unable to find file Audio/BGM
Hmm...okay, if that's what happening I suspect the entire audio folder is missing. If you downloaded the game, it should be in the rar file as a separate folder. Copy and paste it into the main Master of the Wind folder and you should be good to go.
thanks a lot!now i can play it entirely!
Um...I'm stuck in a part of the game. I think it's Arc V, when I am in Volrath's Castle - I found the red artifact, and also the information about the fire place and tunnel, but Stoic says all we need is to find the key. I have no idea where to find the key, so can you please help me? I love this game, and really want some help. And I also have not fully synchronized Area C, if that helps.
Ah yes, I'm pretty familiar with people getting stumped here. If you're in the main courtyard, you can follow a path right into a building. There's actually a door to a church area there, but you can't see it because of the angle.

Thanks a lot, completed the game! Can't wait for the last arc!
That won't be long at all....keep checking this page!

Oh look at that there! The full Master of the Wind for Christmas! :P The game was great guys! I need to someday play the whole game through in one sitting! How does it feel to have a finished game under your belt? :D
One sitting?! You better eat a big meal beforehand!

It kinda blows our minds that it's actually done (though small updates may add more art or a bonus boss battle depending on our ambitions), but we're glad. We worked pretty hard on this and now this version represents 6 and a half years of effort. Thanks for your longtime support and thanks to those fans who discovered it here!
I'll have to go through this as well. I just finished my playthrough of another game, all my other games I have lined up to test are being worked on currently, and this may just yet be my next target to pass the time. No matter how many testers it's been through...I will find bugs. I have to keep up my reputation of always finding lots of bugs after all.

I read about the first arc being challenging...I'm going to hold you to that. I find it rare that an rm game challenges me. I've read the game is fairly good though, so don't worry.

I won't go so far as to attempt playing it in one sitting, but I will say, I'm hoping theres a bunch of optional stuff, so getting everything proves to be a challenge!
Wow, it's finished! AWESOME! Congratulations Volrath and ArtBane!
Wow,it is completed & here I was thinking yesterday that It would be great if this game could be completed soon, what Luck..

The game did have a rep for being extremely hard in the early days, but years of complaints about the difficulty (and some balancing issues) led to a major overhaul of the battle system that made things easier in general. You still may find some boss fights pretty rough, though, and ArtBane has talked about releasing a version with a higher difficulty mode at some point but that might not be for a while.

I don't doubt you'll find some bugs. With this version I'm just hoping that we resolved all of the progression blocking issues.
Heh, I dunno about that. I've been playing about 10 minutes and I'm already noticing some things. Figured I'd post since I have a bunch in notepad already.

Since this game works by acts, I'll post the same way. I'll post comments/bugs as I play through as per my standard routine.

Motw: Act 1

This doesn't count as a bug, but I noticed the light armor says it adds more agility, but if I take it off, my agility isn't lowered.

I also noticed that on the first map, I don't have to face the well for them to say there not going down here.

It appears I can go through the fence as well. It's to the right on top of a dirt path. It looks like it has two holes, and you can pass through the top part, but not the bottom. Just a minor passability bug, doesn't break anything.

The save fairy is interesting, but I can see the save/heal being abused. Granted it's the first dungeon, so I'll overlook that.

In the room where you can fall through the floor, I fell through in a spot that didn't have cracks displayed for it. Also, I'm trying to get every chest via this method, but it appears, one of the cracks I need to access is blocked off by other cracks (namely the bottom right), edit: It appears I needed to go to a higher floor for this one, so nevermind this lol.

Edit: Nice, found the miracle drop. Gonna save that for a lot later

Edit 2: At the huge estate on the map to the left of the pub, after you walk up the stairs, the left and right cliffs sort of look flat, and you can walk right off of it on the right side.

Edit 3: Still on the estate map, theres an npc that says: The houses are here are only getting more gigantic. Shouldn't there be a that in front of that first are?

Edit 4: Lol what? I found the ghost that said smirknoff ice or whatever instead of saying may arcadia be with you

Edit 5: The puzzles in this place are fairly decent.

Edit 6: Finally got to the boss and defeated it. I didn't really have much trouble myself...I would of loved to play the hard version..

Edit 7: In barrys weapon shop, there is an ncp that says cool spears..when hes in front of the swords. A small thing, but I figured I'd mention it.

Edit 8: Whoa, I just looked at my treasure list on the mountains..and while I'm certain I found some treasures I don't think were meant to count toward it (they were hidden secret items not in a treasure chest, my treasure score ended up at there being -1 left on the mountains.

First act was pretty good, nothing all that challenging. I breezed through it, but probably overleveled while searching for treasure. I ended the act at level 14...and that was running from about half the encounters while searching for treasure.

Act 2:

Theres a guard that speaks of a kidnapping incident before it even happens.

Not a bug, but during the rescue the kids mission, you come across a mine cart puzzle. The puzzle looks really complicated at first...but once you learn that you not only need to align the tracks, but also that the mine cart bounces off of an area with a red light. I didn't realize that would happen at first, since even though a red light generally means stop, the mine tracks told me that it wouldn't stop. Mayby toss a sign or something in there that notes that. It also doesn't help that there are three lights when you have green meaning go, yellow that seeminly does nothing, and then red.

Edit: The mine cart chicken is interesting. Took me a few tries, but now I can beat it every single time.

When you get finley on your side, his sharpnel skill has a typo. It says enemeis instead of enemies.

Edit 2: When your about to crash the concert, and you get a temporary moment to prepare, I notice that you can save both from the menu (if you choose to go to your main menu), as well as from that fairy menu.

Edit 3: When gino get's new materials, all of the materials you can buy suddenly shifted to the weapons catergory. Also, if you hit the cancel button when he asks if you want to shop, it takes you to a buy/sell screen.

Edit 4: When I crafted haubergon, it only took the top ingedient from my inventory, and not the bottom.

Act 3:

It's getting pretty good...and now I'm on act 3. Gameplay hasn't really challenged me, but I'm enjoying the story, the puzzles, and the exploration (even though most npc's keep the same dialog) Currently my guys are level 18.

Edit: In the armor shop (the one in the country, forgot the name of the town), with the dwarf, you can walk on top of the button switch thing in the background.

When bones learns crosscut, it says he learns bone cleave. Basically it's a wrong dialog for when bone cleave upgrades

lol...found the guard who says fear his lemon launcher.

The warp to the potion of giants is in a bad spot. You can easily walk around it, and wonder why theres nothing down there (especially since it was previously guarded by those blue things). Took me a minute to realize I walked around the warp.

If you didn't visit the fairy save shack in the woods the first time in the forest, and you do visit when your using stoic and baron, then the text gets all messed up, thinking its your visit.

I do like the encounter bar, as well as how encounters seem to work. It seems the early game is too reliant on the save/heal fairy (just my opinion there).

Edit: I'm liking the dungeon design minus that treasure bug I found. It really does encourage exploration, and that fairies treasure count is indefinitely handy.
...Um.. I've found a bug, I don't know whether its this version or not, but my character just stopped moving and everything died (not literally) on the screen and it froze. And I lost all of my hard earned EXP when I killed Andau...
Was that a bug from an older version?
EDIT: YAY, I just did my Misao voting!
... The bug is still there in the complete version, my screen still freezes once I kill Andau and go back home. I can still go to the menu, but I can't walk or do anything, this is a really annoying bug...
EDIT - For some random reason, I re-started my game, levelled up a load again, and I did the exact same things I did in my last game, and it somehow worked, even though I thought the bug would show up again.
YAY! Though I'm a teensy bit scared that the bug will re-appear again...
I just hope it doesn't...
Just posting to say that I've completed the first two acts, and all the comments/bugs I found so far are in my last post. I'm probably gonna take a break soon, but wanted to let you guys how my progress is going so far.
We're never short on bugs, are we? Ichimaru's worries me especially, though hopefully it was just one and done.

I think it will be a while before v1.4 comes out - we'd like to have some more artwork and maybe a whole new difficulty mode. Keep cataloging the bugs though, it's handy to have a list here. Hope you continue to enjoy the game!
Um, Volrath, I just wanted to make a small comment.
You know in this version, battles seem somewhat easier, and my character seems more powered up. I distinctly remember me being at level 14 on a random version of the game years ago, and it took me a lot of hits to kill the monsters. But now, I can wipe them out in something like a thirty seconds.
Maybe you should make the monsters stronger or something...?
Or maybe its just that I try to level up a lot.
