Dormant Sky Kickstarter

Some time ago a forum member who commented on the project page expressed his/her willingness to contribute to the project. And when I considered the prospect of creating a Kickstarter for an Rpgmaker game, I found it pretty humorous. But after I researched and found that Dormant Sky would definitely not be the first or last to be submitted and get this end up Fully Funded, I had to give it a shot.

This also wouldn't be the first time I bucked a community trend with the way I go about game development. The primary thing that has always held back my vision for this game is the amount of resources I need for it to prosper. Something like Kickstarter would definitely grant me those resources. Truth is, I allowed development of the game to halt for the last year or so for multiple reasons that have dealt with my personal life, but with working with Vanit and the custom systems, one thing I have started to need is money. Custom systems need custom resources. The Battle System could have been finished and a demo out in 2010, if I had a few hundred sprites done for the character's animations.
Being a full-time college student hasn't exactly helped me in that area either. But I have expressed that I truly want to release this game. Even if the project fails to be funded, I will still do my best to make it happen. This method would just increase the rate of which exponentially.

Lastly, I'd like to compensate the people who have contributed to this project from day one. There are people who have taken shots at me for utilizing a team factor for this game but it boils down to the fact that there are people who really bought into my vision for the project even as an RPGmaker title, and contributed their talents. I want to do good by them, and those who look forward to Dormant Sky even today.

If you know of anyone who might be interested in donating to Dormant Sky please share the link.

Who knows, I may be able to get the game finalized in a completely different engine at the end of the day.

This is the vision of a guy who refuses to settle for mediocrity.
I believe that this fundraiser will live and die by the Rpgmaker community.

I'll meet you guys back here in 54 days.

What's Dormant Sky??

I find it funny how I've shifted in the ways I develop this game now.
Back in it's first days: I would show off any and every peice of media from this project to
sustain it's hype. When I came to realize that making this game exactly how I want would
take much more time than I thought, I sheltered much of the game's information so as
NOT to hype it. This blog post is for those who still believe in this project, and you've good reason.

You guys probably realize the name change from CHAOS GENERATIONS to
DORMANT SKY. I thought this change in name had a strong story relevance, and
I was also getting annoyed over the years of hearing it likened to that god-awful psp
RPG.

Over this summer, a very beneficial member to the progress of this title was founded.
Some of you know him as Vanit.

Working closely with him, we are shaping parts of the game I can't wait to unveil soon.
However, with school coming back up and whatnot, I don't expect us to get back to
work full-force until around Thanksgiving-Christmas time.

Close friends of mine from this community, have already seen some of the innovations in
systems done. And I could easily showcase what we have now. I just ask that followers hold
on.

Also, I did however upload the new character sprites.
MusicalSwordsman did an excellent job, and I can't wait
to see the next two female main characters when they're designed.

We also have a new composer and Voice Cast in the mix.
And I plan to showcase their talents once I erect a new
thread for the game, which I plan to do only AFTER the
demo's completion.

The game is alive, and as I said before, I do not plan on ceasing work on it.
At this point, I've put my own money into this. And will continue if that's needed
to give you guys what I promised. I'm adamant about doing just that.

Chaos Generations is go!!

Yo, names Sion. And in reality, this project has been in the making for about 3 years. In that time, I've honed and perfected my skills as an amateur developer in the hopes of bringing to light my vision of the ideal rpgmaker gaming experience. Over these years I've been blessed with the aid of a small group of members/friends who've helped me in the development of this project. Which I collectively call Createamation.

The basis of this project is actually an old story I wrote as my major rpg game. After several failed project attempts, I gained enough courage to take such a large-scale project on. So far I've been rewarded with the developement of such features:

*Voice Acting

*Select Custom Composed Music

*Progressing CBS and CMS

*Detailed and Interactive Environments.

*Well-crafted and developed story and characters.

It may very well be a long journey before this project is released. But as I've vowed to myself, I will do whatever it takes to make one of my dreams, this project, become a true reality. Until my next blog, Sion out.
