Super Mario Quest is a side scrolling RPG-adventure fantasy game that runs on SMBX (Super Mario Bros. X) engine developed by Redigit. It spans 16 worlds full of adventure and story.

Here is a list of what to expect on this game.

- A Mario Bros. game with Mario and Luigi as the players.
- An enormous world map that spans at least 16 worlds.
- A combination of Super Mario All-Stars, Super Mario World, Super Mario RPG and Super Mario 64 elements, plus its own unique graphics and story line.
- It's an RPG side scrolling game. Meaning, it is a 2D side-scroller but with a story line complete with quests and adventures.
- Over 1000 levels to explore (Not literally. I'm just gonna make as much levels as I could).
- High Replay Value is guaranteed due to the presence of hidden Magic Stars and easter egg secrets.
- You can find all the Super Mario All-Star powerups.
- You can ride Yoshi from Super Mario World. He comes in different colors.
- Quests are available. Including level sidequests.
- Unique graphics, music soundtracks and sounds.
- High definition graphics may be employed.
- Difficulty range from very easy to extremely difficult.
- Advance scripts.

Seems interesting. I'm curious as to how you managed to make this into somewhat of an RPG like game. I'll give your demo/whatever a try once this is released.
Thanks for the feedback guys...

As to the question how? SMBX has a built-in dialogue system that allows NPCs to talk, and a simple event functionality, which allows me to attach dialogues into certain in-game triggers and initiate some special functions like sidequests. There is also a simple hardcoded graphic hack that remove the exclamation over talking NPCs, and the rest are graphic tricks that make up for an RPG illusion.
Quests in a SMBX game seems like an interesting enough idea. I think I'll subscribe and see where this goes.
@Proffessor_Buglean: Thanks for the interest. :)

By the way, I have added two new photos...

Update Notes:
SMBX Super Mario Quest Blog
After almost a month of laboring on this project, I finally manage to finish the entire World 1. And because of that I am thinking of releasing a demo to see whether players will enjoy it or not. I am not very confident considering the fact that this project was repeatedly criticized for its frequent graphical clashes. I'm not even sure if the gameplay could compensate for these clashes. I will address the clash issues later but since this is an RPG, and I don't have graphic artists nor all the resources for the in demand in-game graphic sprites, I had to pick everything I have and put it in the game.

The demo can be found here:
Super Mario Quest Demo v.1.0b

Please let me know of any bugs so that I could correct it. Note that I can only fix bugs at the moment. The graphic clashes will have to wait until this game is complete. To those who support... my heartfelt thanks...
