i played this 2 years ago. so i can't get super detail specific. i recorded a playthrough back then too, here's a link if interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tnEmPg20ANQ

First off, the main plot is based off a creepypasta. i cant remember the title for the creepypasta but one of the other reviews has it linked. summary of plot, so spoilers:
The mc is reminiscing about a time as a child when he'd be visited by a boogeyman type creature at night. the only way the creature's terror was stopped was when his mom entered the room and turned on the light.
The problem is the main plot based off the creepypasta doesn't connect to the various dream sequences you get to explore. For me, the nightmares were what kept me trudging along. a lot of work & time was put into the nightmare sequences, the artwork and environments are amazing.

After awhile the overall dread during this game faded for me when realized that no harm would come upon the mc during the nightmares. there are no case scenes, or major jump-scares despite the mc making some clearly awful decisions in the nightmares. most of the sequences are linear, some contain simple puzzles or mazes. for the most part its just atmosphere, creatures, and scenery that create the creepy feeling during the game. I have no idea if the school nightmare had different endings since there was multiple tunnels? though not sure i want to replay this to find out, since i cant remember if saving was even possible. game play took about a hour, so it'd be a nuisance to redo everything.

overall, i think the creepypasta chosen for the plot wasn't the best for video game format. Most of it was just fed to you in cut-scenes between the nightmares. i think the game would've been better off it dropped the creepypasta and focused on the nightmares connecting those somehow. the nightmares are what makes this game worth checking out because they are creepy, bizarre, and unique.
