An RM Venture Event game, trying desperately to be an hour in playtime. Fiona has no memory of the day before she awoke in a human village...except a dream of death. Convinced she must find her people, she and her friends set out to reach a tower in the north: a tower that is home to the greatest of evil...
Gameplay is basic given that we technically had 7 days to make the game. Items are scattered throughout to make the game easier. Gameplay attempts to balance so that it is reasonably difficult. I'm not experienced with balance, but I think I did okay. I played through a few times. Gameplay is a bit easier than the typical RPG. Encounters probably aren't as hard as they should be and while it takes a bit of time to beat the end boss and he does hit hard, it's easy to use healing magic to counter him...so it probably could be a bit harder.
Well, it's finished. Granted, I'd still be working on it if there wasn't a deadline. A lot of things I am not happy with...but I suppose that's part of the point of a deadline...sometimes being able to see the toolmarks is better than perfection.

CloseI just tried downloading your game, but the file seems to not be the right one or something. You uploaded just the executable file (Setup.exe). Make sure to pack the other files the "Create gamedisk" option generates. Most importantly, the .lzh one.

Orochii is right. The executable does nothing. But on another note, good screenshots! I'll be ready to test it out once you get everything else up and going.
Fixed. I gave up on game disks and turning off RTP and just packaged the whole file into a zip file.
Did you do this on purpose to mess with the little bit of brain power I have left?

Guess what? Error msg. "The file chara4 cannot open"
I can't through either door. The same error comes up and shuts down the game.
Is this easy to fix??? I DON"T KNOW :)

Ugh. I only leave this game up for the makerscore. This is my first ever complete game. The event was something like 10 days long. Umm, here's the file.
In your RTP, just drop the file into charset folder and make sure the name is chara4.

Actually, it doesn't take much time to defeat the end boss at all. The amount of cheaply available stat up items in the game means it easy to go into that fight with a party with pretty much max stats for every category except health.
Yep, it was supposed to be an hour long game. It was my first game, it was for an event, I literally only had a week to make it with absolutely no experience making games outside of a text adventure I made in C++ for my wife, and I wanted to make sure you didn't spend two hours on it. I figured if I didn't make a game, I'd never make a game. Turns out I was right. After that game, I actually got serious about it and now I'm doing real work on gam mak. Then, when this game got buried in the games list, I thought people would forget it because it mega-sucked and I didn't like anything about it. Well, I'm being haunted by my embarrassing game.
(I kept it up for the nice little bit of makerscore a completed game gives me, a decision I am rethinking. Just kidding.)

Hi pianotm! I'm sorry if this is a very new question but.. I tried to open the game but an error pops up saying "the file vehicle cannot be opened"... does the game require RTP? but I can see that it has RTP with it.. hmm x((

I read the review before anything else, not remembering I had already played this game :( Got PO'd at the review so decided to play and rebuke the reviewer :)
This was a fun game. YES, all the items in the game make it very easy to beat, but hey, that was part of the fun. Finding so many items, and being able to buy powerups was great.
ALSO, for a first game, AND because there was a time limit, you have no reason not to be proud of this game.
DISCLAIMER: No, pianotm is not my boyfriend :) I simply enjoyed the time spent on his game.
