A game by any other name (trademarks...)

I spoke to a lawyer who recommended that I not use the current title for the game if I hope to eventually sell it on the App Store or Steam. I'm pretty lost on what to call it next, so I would really appreciate your input.

Here's a link to a Google form where you can choose from a few backup ideas I had, or write your own suggestion: Click here!

Again, I'd be really grateful for your help! I've asked family and friends, but I value what you have to say especially. RMN is where my indie development ambitions first took flight.

I suppose Square Enix' Hitman: Absolution is the culprit?

I voted for Smoke and Flame. It sounds good and seems to fit with the setting and theme.
Absolution is an English word. Technically you can't trademark it because of that. One workaround is making it more like a phrase, like "Drakonis' Absolution" for example. IANAL 'n all that though so take everything I say with a grain of salt.

I really don't like the idea you're being advised not to use a non-trademarkable word for your game, but I can understand if you want to avoid confusion. Though I think SE would lose in a trademark fight with the Catholic Church on that one.

Still I went with Brother's Keeper, given the description.
Haha that's right Avee. And yeah, while I was pretty sure I'd be in the clear using a word from the dictionary, his advice boiled down to "Even if you'd win in the end, you wouldn't want to spend the legal fees to get there."

Thanks for voting guys! Really appreciate your help.
