A Demo About Kids Who Save The World

This is a demo review.
This is a review for the file which is downloaded on June 18, 2017. My playtime: 03:27:47.

Intro
Super Battle Kiddo Experience! is a game about a bunch of kids who's going to save the world. The game uses a unique chain battle system; you'll battle in a set amount of battles which will have a randomized enemies (except for the boss and mini boss).

Graphics
I love the cute graphics. The enemies look cute and so are the heroes. The mapping looks great although it might get confusing to have all of the interior maps in the same area.

At first, i thought that the inn and weapon store is next to each other.

Music
The music sounds pleasant. I love it, especially the battle bgm.

Story
There isn't much focus on the story. Sure, the game has a main storyline, but it mostly talk about EVILGOD in every one or two dialogues. However, there are some talks (that are not related to the main story) between the characters that i find funny- much more than the main story itself.

The game
There are 9 playable characters in the current demo with some being unlocked after you do some specific actions. You can bring up to 5 characters in your party. Each character has their own advantages and disadvantages although i find that there are some which are extremely strong (Myra and Carmilla) and some which are extremely weak (Marcia and Terra). The weak character might have better speed than the "strongest character", but they lack damage in comparison although the speed doesn't really differ too much (you can pretty much hit before the enemy hit you with both of them).

Since each character has different classes, they learn their own specific skills and wear their specific equipments. There are a lot of equipments in the game, ranging from leather based equipments to steel based equipments. You can also equip an additional of four accessories for the character. However, you can only look at who can wear what in the shop- you can't tell whether the item is better than the equipped item or not.

The game itself will require you to move to places. After the first area, you'll have a freedom to travel in any order you want. I love the fact that the empty town will be occupied by the kids and they'll do anything they can to keep the town running. However, although you're free to travel anywhere, your option in the beginning is limited because of your low level; you even forced to do a certain area first which is like quite far (and missable) from the previous area.

As i said before, the game uses a chain battle system. There are these pentagram thing that will tell you what level the enemies are, the number of waves, and the additional reward that you'll get if you slay them all. The monsters in each set of waves are randomized except for the bosses and mini bosses. The normal battles might take 1-3 turn to finish; depending on how many dps you have in your party. You might also die from the battle if you aren't careful. The bosses itself aren't that challenging at all; they more look like a buffier version of the normal enemies and it might look more challenging because you're starting to run out MPs. The chain system might seem interesting at first, but you'll sometimes get bored because of it being too repetitive. I kinda missed it again after i finished the demo though.

A Hexagram Encounter Chain Summoning System

Pros:
- 9 playable characters
- Chain battle
- Clear dungeon in any order you want

Cons:
- Unbalanced classes
- The interior mapping needs some improvement

Conclusion
This is a game about a bunch of kids with unique kinds of equipment and skill sets who's going to save the world. The game uses a chain system battle.

Final rating: 4/5
Good game. It's such a pity that it got cancelled.
