Based upon one of my short stories.

Emily Robinson has, what to many, would seem an idyllic life. Raised in a quiet community by her mother, Emily's only cares are her vegetable garden, the dandelions growing in the front yard, and her home-school lessons. She's never questioned her mother's admonition that she should never leave the house in the daytime hours. She must tend her garden mornings and night, and must be indoors no later than an hour after sunrise, but that's okay; gardens grow faster and stronger when tended by night.

Everything changes when Emily breaks that important rule by just a few minutes and meets a boy about her age on his way to school. What is mother so afraid of? But if Emily breaks one rule, she may break more and if that happens, she may stumble upon a secret that she may not survive and learn something about herself that may make her wish she had never been born. The more you learn, the greater your peril.

--Item seeking: Emily lives her life taking care of her elderly mother and frequently has to gather the items she needs.

--Information gathering: As Emily starts to question her life, you'll start to search her house for information pertaining to her past. Fair warning: what you learn cannot be unlearned.

--Avoidance: The police have ultimately been replaced by robot drones who are programmed to detain and question any citizen found out and about, and if the citizen cannot provide a good reason for being on the streets, he or she will be arrested. If the police spot Emily outside her house, the game is over.

Hey, what's the status on this game? Is it complete?

Something else, I don't want to sound harsh, brother. But you need to work on your mapping skills. Your stories/writing suffers from it, sadly. :(
While visuals aren't everything if story is key, it is a defining factor for a medium like this.

Also, something to point out in your description:
"She's never questioned her mother's admonition that she should never leave the house in the daytime hours."

This is something I might try, because I like the premise but not sure overall.

Oh, sorry, I started on it then got sidetracked and never got back to it.

"She's never questioned her mother's admonition that she should never leave the house in the daytime hours."

Okay, breaking it down: She has never questioned her mother's admonition;
she should never
that she should never
leave the house in the daytime hours.
leave the house during the daytime hours.

What's wrong with it?

It was simply based on a short story I wrote. http://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/14822/

Sorry, I should have been more clear with that!

In the description it is:
She's never questioned her mother's admonition that she should never the house in the daytime hours.

Oh! Now I see! I also found another typo that I just fixed.

This really sparks my interest. That ominous "what you learn cannot be unlearned", and the title itself, really makes me wanna play this!

Are you still working on this?

Little by little. It wasn't supposed to be big, but I participated in a jam game, and now I only really work on this when I'm bored.

If you're interested, the original story it's based on is here. https://rpgmaker.net/forums/topics/14822/?post=534331 The story kind of rushes the end, but I was running out of space for the magazine submission.
