Legionwood: Mysteries of Dynastland DLC now available!

Wow, talk about not meeting deadlines, right? Some of you might remember that I annouced a Legionwood expansion pack, way back in late 2010. Although it ultimately ended up being cancelled due to hard drive failure, I managed to recover some of its assets a few months ago and, rather than doing the logical lazy thing and recycling them for Legionwood 2, I decided to piece them together and release the resulting mess.

So then, this is the Legionwood expansion I promised all those years ago but never actually delivered? Well, not really. But it's still a pretty cool addition to the Legionwood world.

Legionwood: Mysteries of Dynastland is an expansion pack/DLC for Legionwood: Tale of the Two Swords. Featuring a huge new story dungeon set in the midst of the game's chaotic fourth act, as well as a considerable number of all new optional endgame quests, a revised final dungeon and over a dozen new Techs to learn, it expands the original game's playtime by at least three hours and adds several long awaited features to game, including a graphical world map and quest journal.

The main addition in Mysteries of Dynastland is the titular Dynastland dungeon, which takes place between the Sealed Library and Lost City Crebt areas in Chapter 4. This sprawling dungeon crawl is filled with new enemies, puzzles and challenges to test your skills against, and also reveals the never-before-seen backstory of Zanthus and his long lost homeland as your party searches for the mythical Purity Crystal, an ancient Precursor artifact rumoured to be able to manipulate time itself.

Other notable additions to the game include 12 brand new Techs, including unique Techs exclusive to certain characters, a new set of powerful Dynastland equipment, a late-game "scavenger hunt" quest that will take you to the furthest corners of the world, a complete overhaul and rebalancing of all late game content and an expanded final dungeon with a new, harder version of Castoth to fight -- in both the normal and "true" varieties. Overall, it pretty much turns the final act of Legionwood into a completely new game, which was one of my main goals as I was always rather unhappy with how rushed that part of the game turned out.

Anyway, if you're itching for some new adventures, you can grab the DLC here. Simply point the installer to your Legionwood directory and extract, overwriting files when prompted. In order to experience the new content at the appropriate difficulty level, I recommend either starting a new game or loading a game that was saved before the Sealed Library, though most of the new content except for the Quest Journal can still be accessed otherwise.

Check out these screenshots to see some of the new locations in the game:

And with that, I'm off to work on Legionwood 2 again. Happy adventuring! :)

Yeah the download corruption must be the likely culprit. I'd redownload as other files probably will be missing to. If this doesn't work still, I'm gonna upload the missing file itself.
Update:

I've uploaded a small 2MB patch which will fix the following things in Legionwood 3.12:

- You can no longer get stuck landing your ship at Charn Port.
- You can now complete Demonhold Keep.
- Learning Dual Wielding no longer gives you wierd, rare weapons you shouldn't have.
- Kills the bug that adds Thyrra to your party in Selatan Plains...

This patch is essential if you wish to complete the game. I have submitted it to RMN so expect it to be available within twelve hours. It is very easy to apply and fixes all of this version's problems.
there's a problem with version 3.12. It keeps saying that the scripts aren't working
That can happen on older computers where the lag of certain maps becomes too overwhelming. You can only try to keep playing. That's it. Those bits sometimes will let you through.

do i have to play the game from start to finish again?!
One of the best RPG Maker games I have ever played! Specially in therms of difficulty. Its not easy but not too hard. I never used the "defense" command so frequently in one game, this means that I actually have to think a little (and I said a little) and be versatile when I battle. Even against regular enemies, but this is very good and don't make the battles boring. Anyone complaining about the difficulty of the game surely is a noob, because I never seen a better battle difficulty in one RPG game, even in console RPGs. The MMORPG-like customization system adds to this whole strategy. Whatever, end of the compliments.

SPOILERS (?) I'm stuck. In the ruins of the archipelago, where you must get 3 emeralds from 3 statues in an underground floor. I'm stuck in the one where you have to move the crystals. I have already moved and placed them in all possible ways that made sense, but nothing happens. I talked to the statue after every try. I don't know if someone can help me in this forum, I'm going to search on other sites/forum now, but if someone could help I would apreciate. Also, watch for this part of the game, maybe you could make it easier giving a better hint in the statue.

Finally, sorry for bad spelling because I'm brazilian.
Awesome game (just like all of your games i have played this far) anyway does newest chapter end on Klaim or am i just stuck :D...
(didnt realize AP system b4 beated first boss maybe i shuld read more carefully)
that AP system is awesome and high attack enemies makes all battles interesting
(except those with goblins they are annoying)

@Psyducklol i thought that was easiest one... i dont remember what the question was but the arrows means which way crystals are ''looking'' i think. i hope it helped.
The game ends far beyond Klaim... You must be stuck...
oh didnt notice small path to mountain at begin and forgot post that already found it
now im sure im end of the chapter as i see no way to beat ''Terminus'' and story keeps going after i lose

anyway can i ask does ''Terminus'' have infinite hp cause
i counted if poison does 10% of max hp it has around 100k hp and after 30min+ fight
(yes really 30min+) it still isnt dead... means about million health? did u make it to ''heal''
full health every turn (cause i dont know any way to make enemy hp more than 1mil in VX)?
...Just curious... ;P
btw if u wonder how i survived bout 100turns+ its cause zanthus can stun enemy and others do blind skills
sorry bout long post
Yeah his HP is unlimited and refills at the end of each battle phase. Even so he has a HP limit of 999,999 so you will never kill him.
HELP! I downloaded v 3.21 about a week ago and had no problems playing the game up till now. After 6 or 7 failed attempts, I just killed the bone dragon and was getting ready (I assume from the dialog) to get the sword. I suddenly got an error message that stated something was stacked too deep, then it went to black screen, then back to my desktop. I love playing RPG games, but am rather computer illiterate.....can you help, with simple detailed instructions on what to do? Thanks in advance.
Unfortunately that happens on some older computers. How it happens is rather random and unfortunately all you can do is beat the dragon again. Eventually you will get through without the error. I am working on fixing this.
A 'Stack too Deep' error usually occurs with scripts that don't properly alias certain methods when a game is restarted using F12. Try doing the section after starting the game and never pushing F12.
Yeah I myself have tried that... And it doesn't change anything. I've removed each of my scripts in turn and it still does it... The only thing I know for certain is that if your RAM is a gig or above it won't seem to happen for some reason.
Thanks for your responses. I did in fact do an F12 quit several times during that session...I'll try again without pushing the F12 and keep going till I beat it again and see what happens! I really do like this game though....and I have quit several games in this genre that I PAID for.....they were too confusing, too monotonous or just downright boring. Congratulations on a great story.
Everything went fine when I restarted the game and didn't use F12. Thanks for that little tip, I won't use it again!
Okay cool, now we know how to resolve it for future players.
haha get on ship and enter city that is on shore (so u can go there with ship)
and u really are on the city with ship (of course u get stuck)
i saw that bug on 1 game that is not RPG maker game too so its not a big deal :D
just telling this if you want to fix it. its not important :P
