The terrible Orc Babbie Orctunga has not been able to sate his appetite for delicious choc-chip cookies. So he has resorted to turning the innocent folk of Bakersville into cookies for his munchies.

Features:

- A break from my serious games, I guess.
- Humorous dialogue.
- Cookies!
- RTP used well!

Current screenshots are outdated.

Revived from the dead in an attempt to familiarize myself with MV, Cookie Cutter Heroes (or CCH) is my humourous attempt at making a witty game that is more gameplay centric than anything else.

CCH is... alive?

Nani?!

After a very, very long hiatus (if you exclude my IGMC entry, which... is still pending...???) from gam-mak, I decided to revive this long-dead project of mine. Originally made for the MV Olympics back in 2015 over the course of one week, it was a way to experiment with the newest and shiniest maker on the scene.

Its also supposed to be a sort of break-away from my serious projects with their equally serious female leads. So far my games have had exactly one male lead, at that was Lawrence from LoA.

As for my characters, Lexie is brash, loud, a little crude, and prefers to silence people with her fists rather than a sword.
Her wonky friend Zooey claims to be a purveyor of fine cuisine, until one discovers she only took up magick so she could brew the perfect orc stew.

Yes, 'Orc Stew'. Or soup. As long as Zooey can get her hands on any orc, any sort of cuisine will do.

The village that they find themselves in (Bakersville, Pop. 42) can be summed as a town of cloud cuckolanders. The villagers are so oblivious to danger that their town motto "We know no fear, show no mercy" may seem like some tough-guy facade to repel unwary travellers.

Fact of the matter is, they no NOTHING. These villagers are so brainless that they mistake the rampaging orcs for 'cute green piggies' who are intelligent creatures who know how to help themselves to anything... even the occasional, hapless villager. And that's where our two gormless heroines come in...

Crazy, yes. Don't ask me about her horrid taste in cuisine. Orc cuisine probably smells as bad as it looks. Maybe she eats with a peg over her nose. No wonder Lexie doesn't want to date her.

I seem to have a thing for spiky-haired heroines. Must be the 'Laine gene'.

Combos are hella fun to stack, especially once Lexie starts dishing out multiple punches to Babbie's wobbly green belly. That belly-button is revolting, though.

As I try to get accustomed to MV's plugins, I'll try to make this project as RTP as possible. I find that if I make original graphics, it deviates away from my true purpose, which is to make a fun game. Not to mention it... can be a bit of a time-sink. As I found with the case of LotL (I found an old copy of the game that had around 10-hours of game play on it, found on an Angry Birds flash drive that I thought was lost for good).

The game is still an early WIP, but when completed it will probably take around... 2-3 hours at most to finish? Then I can start muddling with ideas for my next 'big project'. Hint: Old school jRPG with modern quirks. No teenage protags allowed.

Here's to a happy 2018! >:D

Instant-subscribed! :DDDDD I've been looking forward to this ^_^ <3
I'm pushing for the dead-line, so hopefully I can try to get a tiny demo out. >< But thanks nevertheless guys. I hope I won't disappoint you. ^^

This sounds like something that Caz would probably have come up with for a game, let alone you, Luchino. I mean, it’s just so silly and incredibly stupid - this isn’t like you. This isn’t like you at all!

- But I look forward to playing it, anyway. Hey, this might even be my first MV game that I get to play and review. That’d be something, right?
Exactly. I needed to take a bit of a break from my serious stuff, and MV's sprite style and battlers were so ridiculously cute but silly at the same time, I decided to do something stupid for once. I tend to avoid humour since it's so subjective at times. And I can't for the life of me make a serious game with MV's default assets.

I fully expect a low score if you do get around to reviewing it. But hey, MS is MS. ^^

True that, but don’t sell yourself too short right away – you just never know; this thing could be awesome and worthy of more than just a 2 messily stars. You just have to “believe!”

And I wish I could make something stupid right now and not make something as complicated as I’m currently doing. (Oh, why, lord Aremen - WHY!? *cries*)
Then again, working on such a silly project may make me realise how much I actually miss working on my big, serious ( though ambitious ) projects. Maybe when my trial of MV expires on the 26th of this month, I'll return to Tristian with renewed vigour ( I think I'm just better at writing serious dialogue, tbh ).

But we'll see how this goes.
Seeing as I only have 3 days left of my trial during a working week, I'm going to close the lid on this jar and label it Cancelled. Even if I had the full version of MV, I don't 'feel' this silly romp. I guess my serious gam-mak nature doesn't lend itself to such silliness.

Sorry Addit, that review is not going to happen. ><

You just lost interest? Was there anything specific you didn't enjoy about it? For a game that's supposed to be made in a week, I'm pretty sure no one was expecting anything serious or high quality.

How far along were you?

Aww. Was looking forward to mushy fun yuri. ;_;
@Red: Not very far, tbh. I only made one playable area, hardly any battles and little to no skills. >< All in all, less than 10 mins of gameplay.

@uni: Oh, I'm sure Tristian will more than make up for that. Even if it is yuri of the serious kind.

Anyway, what is done is done. I can hopefully direct my energy into Tristian now.
