Game's home page here

Echoes of Aetheria has a humble, perhaps even classic, beginning. A wedding interrupted, a bride kidnapped; our heroes give chase. Though their motives are different, they soon find themselves thrown together as their simple quest to recover the bride spirals into an epic saga of war, love, and betrayal.

Treason, defection, rebellion, and even the creation of a new nation are all parts in which you’ll have a role to play. As you progress further, the scope of the story will grow with your heroes. By the end, you’ll have to weigh your decisions and their consequences against the fate of entire nations.

FEATURES
Characters Make the Story – Echoes of Aetheria is more than just a story; it’s a tale about people. Every character has fully fleshed out dreams, goals, motivations, and flaws. These characters exist in a world with its own legends, intrigue, and drama. In turn, this sets the stage for our story, which begins as a whimsical light-hearted adventure and ends as an epic campaign of unprecedented size and scope.
There's No Place Like Home – As you travel around the world, you’ll always have a home base to return to. This home is more than just a place to hang your hat; it’s the hub on which the wheel of the story spins. Shop, craft, and converse with members of your party to progress story elements. Participate in the Battle Arena combat challenges for fun, loot, and xp!
Explore – Finding loot from exploration is only one reward; you gain experience from these hidden caches as well.
Get Busy Crafting – THOUSANDS of items can be crafted, salvaged, or augmented. A fully integrated crafting system lets you create, purchase, or sell the materials you need. Those who fully explore the system will be rewarded in combat!
Random Encounters? Not Here! – Enemies all have their own map AI. Will you brute force through encounters or stealthily sneak by to save resources? You can sneak up behind an enemy to gain the advantage of surprise. But be wary, because they can also sneak up on you!
A New Battle System – Tired of JRPGs that still rely on outdated RPG mechanics? Echoes of Aetheria features a new 15 tile combat system using both sides of the battlefield. Character position and formations are just as important as the skills and spells you’ll use.

Sweet. I love Skyborn (best story of any commercial RPGMaker game I've played, and characters who I felt the most for... I even ended up buying the soundtrack.) When I'm done being broke I'd like to give this game a go.

Thx Chilly! I don't know if I can top Skyborn's story but this game has way more robust features and systems.
Oh, nice. I was wondering the other day if you were still making games.
This one looks as good as any of them.
I was going to check this out, but then the feature list read like something crawled out of TVTropes.

The writing style of the feature list deterred you from trying the game itself?
Hiya! I just wanted to ask if the game will be available on GOG sometime? While I don't mind Steam of course, I do prefer if I can buy the same game from GOG. Once I get some money, whether it's on GOG or not, you can damn well bet I'll be buying this game. Just looks amazing.

Oh, and you may want to consider getting your game onto Green Man Gaming. They put up a ton of Steam games on their site.

that title screen is epic!

i dont use a mouse but its great to be a option

awesome how you can skip cut scenes like that!

i really hate the concept of marriage but if you thought it could not get any more offensive then it already
is. 2 random people are forced into it. just so war could stop because...that totally makes sense.

not only can we upgrade skills but we can swap points!? finally! finally a dev goes full awesome!

:O that little girl you gave a apple to :O that was ingrid! :O
it might get lovey dovey later! :D or...she might really hate you for abandoning the slums :3

i don't really get the whole traitor thing with the plot. every country set the married couple up? that does not make sense.not to mention just 1 word from the princess which...i assume the being a traitor comes from supposedly kidnapping her.
would shatter the misunderstanding.

the buy now thing is fine but it should only be on the title screen and or end of demo not during it.

O.O why does it save in app data roaming!? that's not cool it should ALWAYS be in the game folder!

This was a rather pleasant experience. a great balance of story and battles as to not stress you out from too much of something.
the art is beautiful and and the battle system is extremely well done!
even the skills and learning/upgrading is amazing.
the grammar was mostly on point as well!

my only dislike is marriage.that's it.

Overall
This is a must play. if you enjoy rpgs at all you should be playing this.
its that good!

uhh... how is the concept of marriage offensive? i guess someone forcing you to marry would be offensive but otherwise marriage is as offensive as idk, a mortgage or choosing to get a tattoo idk. >_>

looks like a cool gam!
Surely a lot of effort seems to have gone into it, which is always a plus.
Just want to say that I bought this game, and I can't put it down. Seriously. I'm going to binge-play this game all night, because it's THAT good. Really well done.

Hi all!

Thanks all for your kind words.

In regards to the betrayal plot, it can seem a little convoluted, sure. Basically, the spoiler-free version is that it's a political marriage where clearly someone behind the scenes has a stake in the murder of the bride. But then Kormag foils the scene for his own plans and merely kidnaps her. ...Then you double kidnap her (rescue). It all makes sense later on :P

In regards to marriage - I don't get how it's offensive? Sorry? haha

I have to +1 the GoG question.

Man I wish I could figure out how to get their attention.
Taking a closer look, it seems GoG might not sell RPG Maker games because they don't sell the software. Might be an idea to ask them anyway.

That wouldn't be the reason they don't sell it - it would probably be because they actually have a curation process. And well, the absolute largest barrier to RPGMaker commercial game success is the horrible reputation of RPGMaker.

Believe me on that one. :)

Aside for the thousands porn games, is there any reasons?

You should feel lucky if no one asked you to make hentai version of your games yet.

Well........
By the Way, Ingrid said I could upgrade LightFury by salvaging it then reforging it, but left a few details, like what other items I need.

Just salvage it and use the Lightfury pattern to make it. 2 Aetherium and 1 Anthracite and what ever else.

Thanks, turn out I had a little bug that prevented me from seeing it, so I reinstalled the game and RTP.
I played through the whole demo and was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It's amazing what a good battle system can do for a game.

I have a couple of complaints though (which may just be me being incredibly nitpicky, but hey): First off I HATE the menus. Not the battle menus, but the main menus and window screens for the dialog. It's supposed to be an embossed stone as far as I can tell but the character portraits overlay the embossed parts instead of staying on the flat areas and it absolutely drives the graphic designer in my crazy! It's also not fun to navigate the menus because they're all just.... grey. Nothing else. Everytime I opened it I was just like eughhh, which is a really terrible thing to have happen when the rest of the game is solid. I just felt like the whole game would have leveled up a lot in terms of presentation had the windows/menus had a better design to them.

As for the second thing, I think this is a bug but in the demo once you finally get to the world map and it talks about the "homebase," I could not for the life of me manage to open the homebase at all. I couldn't click it, couldn't navigate to it and select it; no matter what I did it was just a totally unclickable/selectable graphic. It was annoying because I could select the next mission but it would keep telling me "Hey you haven't visited your home base yet! Are you sure you want to proceed?" And I'm like "I CAN'T go to the homebase! QAQ". I hope that's not an issue in the full version. Either case I just wanted to let you know about it.

Anyhoo, it's a great game so far, and I'm adding it to my steam wishlist to buy a bit later (once I finish a couple of other games I'm playing through)! Looking forward to more from you! :D
