To RTP or Not RTP?

That is the question. I've been thinking about this for a very long time and I think it's time for me to finally make a decision. Should I give this game the RTP treatment, or should I keep it as is?

I'd really like some input on this if any of you kind souls have the time. I feel like I'll never have my peace again until I've solved this mystery.

I thought you'd completed this already? Is it still in production?
Do eeeeeet.

As long as we continue to moonwalk into evil bases, I am OK.

The game is complete, yes, but I thought that an RTP version would reach out to a larger audience.

You won't be disappointed.

I haven't tried this game yet so maybe you've already done this, but do you mean adding the necessary RTP files to make it a standalone project? Does the current build require the Ace RTP to run?
RTP or no RTP, it really doesn't matter. I can tell you that casual gamers in general don't care about whether RTP is needed or not. It's more of how you advertise your game. Whether you advertise it elsewhere besides here at RMN.

If anything, casual gamers (or even hardcore gamers for that matter) want convenience. So if you require them to install RTP, then it's a little user-unfriendly there already.

I thought you might mean redo it in RTP, but yeah man you should definitely have a stand alone version and a Lite version

Yes, yes and yes.

Then yes, definitely make an RTP standalone if you have the time.

That's what I've been thinking about! RTP is good for casual/non rpg makers, but the hardcore gamers will be really mad and probably start a war.

That's a good solution! Why did I never think of that. There's still a problem though: should the main download be with or without RTP?

Yeah, that's what I'm aiming for; an RTP edition!

I'll give it a shot, as long as it's not against the event rules.

Thanks for the inputs everyone. I feel a bit more enlightened now.

I'd say that if you have an RTP-included version and a RTP-not-included version, have the main download be the RTP-included version. Then, have a blog (maybe a place in the description) that points players that already have the RTP to the RTP-not-included version.

Nice pro tip! Thanks, bro! I think I might do something like that.

You could probably have created a standalone version in the time it took to write this blog post and comments. Lol.
Yes, lol, but I guess it's better to be safe than sorry. These things can be really touchy to some people.
