Level Design 101: Glacia better than ever!

So I am back to working on Glacia chapter one again. Its alright though because its all for the best game I can make. I already completed a blacksmith system that will allow the player to craft up to four types of Weapons, Magical Weapons, Armor, Shields, and Helms. This along with balancing the money gain that battles give you. Gaining equipment should be exciting and rewarding.

Along with that change I am currently reworking all older area's such as Small Flame Forest to feature light puzzles and obstacles. That way they serve as a fun game play element and not just a path to get to the next town.

Lastly, I am completely remaking the last dungeon from scratch so that is fun and rewarding and not just a bunch of winding paths and half passed walkways.

The Battle system is receiving a little TLC as well. Small improvements such as custom item animations, icons and names, will make my game more unique. While small voice acted portions added to the beginning and ending of battles will make it more exciting.

The Overworld has also been completely remade so that there is no lag and the player never has to guess where else to travel. New graphics make the Overworld more wondrous to explore.

I anticipate 3 weeks from now to be the 3rd (hopefully final release) of chapter one. Look forward to downloading a much improved Glacia. So if you are interested in playing this give me some kind words and encouragement in the comments!

Always good to improve your project, as long as you don't get stuck in a revision loop - setting a deadline should help with that, though. =)
My years resolution was to complete my entire game, my deadline is January 1st. It seams like I've spent a year revising but most of that time was creating new game play systems that will not have to be remade. Finishing my game should not take nearly as long. Wish me luck!
I'll be looking forward to the demo. This is a very interesting game. I have no idea how it will turn out, but I'm definitely curious.
