Short & scary!

Hello!
Here we are with a review of another creepy short game with another amnesiac protagonist. Well to tell the truth this game is about three amnesiac characters stuck inside a cottage. Three different scenarios of about 15 minutes each, I suggest to play them in order (A > B > C), even if C is unlocked after playing one of the first two since it is a sequel of these two parallel adventures. The first two scenarios have also more than one ending, unlike the third that is a linear experience.

But let's speak of the main adventure, she scenario A: this is the story of this man that wakes up with no memories of his past inside the basement of this cottage. First task is to find a way to illuminate the dark room and reactivate the electricity. Later he will also meet a couple of other characters that have amnesia exactly like him, and are locked inside this house. There are also some clues that indicate the presence of gas, but if this whole scenario recalls the movie Saw II (it's a sort of "escape room" scenario here too!), prepared to be surprised...

Uh this sounds familiar... nah has nothing to do with the story, but do you think I was going to spoil anything?

The game is a classic adventure game in which you collect items and clues and unlock paths using them, in order to escape the place. It is a simple and short adventure but well made and complete of a short tutorial if you never played this kind of games. The most important feature is that you can press "C" to have a hint about the next task, but I am pretty sure it won't be necessary (most actions and tasks are pretty reasonable and straightforward), still it is a good feature if a player is not sure. There are also some options that will change the outcome of the adventure, and some others that won't affect the scenario but may provide more (optional) informations about the background and story. Oh yes, there is a lot to read if you want!

The game can be saved anytime and anywhere, and at the end of the scnario a savegame is automatically created to unlock the third scenario. But then I suggest you to play Scenario B! This makes you play the role of another of the amnesiac characters and starts before Scenario A, but makes more sense if you play after that one. Here too some actions will determine the fate of the characters and the ending.
The third scenario is a totally secondary adventure linked to the first that provide some few tasks and informations more, and is a totally optional but however it's a welcomed addition.

Oh and what about the story? It's pretty good and it's inspired by a couple of horror movies (that I have not watched yet!), and even if it is short and leaves a lot unexplained (but if you saw many horror movies you probably know that most of them have no final ending since they leave room for a sequel... here it's the same!) it's still a complete small scenario with a creepy atmosphere. Well done!

Even if this game uses Rtp, even if it's quite short, the idea is good and the realization is particularly cured and detailed. The only weird thing I noticed is that the main character seems forgot what are clocks and refrigerators but he remembers what are televisions and dvds. It's really weird. But aside from this detail I found the dialogues appropriate, no errors and no bugs (just a couple of typos, but negligible flaws)!
Maps are few because the whole story takes place in a short time and in few locations, but they are well made and realistic, complete of details and all the expected interactions.

For some reason our amnesiac hero forgets what are fridges and clocks, BUT he remembers what computers, televisions and Dvds are! Weird!

FINAL VERDICT!
This is a very short but solid mystery/horror scenario that I'd recommend especially by those who never played this kind of game before. In fact this is an easy game, ok even for beginners but the story is interesting for everyone, I guess. Despite involving few characters and a small location it's rather complex and the only problem is that there is a lot to read if you want to learn most detail, but it's totally optional (making also the only real puzzle unnecessary to complete the game).
You can save when you want but if I remember correctly there is no way to die and fail the scenarios... but you can end the scenarios and still die! Anyway don't worry, there aren't gruesome scenes or other visual horror. It's also an adventure game with no action, but the atmosphere and the sounds used are perfect, as is the used of the Rtp! I also like how nothing is done randomly, every small detail can be explained playing both parallel scenarios.

So? I think this is a pretty good game and despite the short length it offers a well written and interesting short dark adventure (even if Scenario A basically explain most of the scenario, playing the other two is an added value). Even if there are some spots where the game could have been improved (with, for example, more emotional dialogues, given the nature of some situations), I still think that this is a good entry, pretty creative too, compared to other horror games that offers the usual single path with chase scenarios.

This gets 4/5 from me! Play this game and be one of us!
