About:
KONEKO. is a short platformer game made in RPG Maker VX Ace by our team for our annual "10 Days Challenge". (this is the first year)

Story:
In a world of cats, there's a chance in 1.000.000.000 for a cat to be born black, and seems that this chance just happened to this cat called "Nekko".
Excluded from society, growing up with leftovers from others, and hated by many, Nekko has no reasons to live, and yet, he tries his best to make new friends.
One day Nekko was just tired of everything, and passing by a Cat God's statue he pushed it and the statue broke.
The Cat God was very angry and cursed him to NEVER touch water again otherwise he would die.
Now Nekko is trying to go to Cat God and revenge...somehow...

Features:
- No battles
- No levels
- Most custom graphics
- Almost no text, only images
- 3 Endings
- Challenging
- Easy puzzles
- It is a Short Game, but not easy for everyone

The endings are chosen based on your interactions (and luck) with other cats.
There's a certain chance for some groups to be friendly with you.

This year's our challenge themes were: GODS, WATER and CURSES.
Based on these we made this game.

Bug Fixes

The game has been updated.
There were some debug events left, so we deleted them.

There is also a "bug" with slippery ground, and we found out the trigger and we have a quick fix.
The bug is caused by wall jumping.
We are sorry for this, it is not under our control.
The author of the core script (ARC ENGINE) doesn't update the script anymore, that's why some small bugs are left.
We managed to find a quick fix, but we don't know when we'll get an official fix.

Quick fix:

Also, some of you may have issues with jumping distance, here is a guide:

Can you specify what jam it was? A personal one? Are there other games made during the jam?

And a platformer made in Ace is pretty impressive!

A personal one where our team picks some themes and we make a game with them in 10Days .

Thanks, for a swift response! That's a nice thing to have and I admire that you're able to make it. I would be delaying it and all the stuff you can do to prolong something.
I'll give Nekko a try later.

And just a note to the story/description. I don't think, that it's important in this particular game, but I may be a good guideline in future projects. 1 out of billion is such an oddity that she would be considered special from any working society. I like that it gently takes on bigotry of our society but I feel that the topic always resonates more with oppressed being a group, which in some way threatens a comfort of any present majority.

She was excluded because other cats were judging her, and they thought that "black" means something like "bad luck" or "evil". (In some countries if a black cat crossed your way it means "bad luck")
We also wanted to make an indirect reference to "actual society" by making groups go away if one of them doesn't like you.
Hey I played this on my stream! It was really interesting!

Here's the vid, if you wanna take a look.

Thank you for playing our game, and sorry for the late reply.
We'll definitely look into the issues you pointed out in the video.
