[[ UPDATE: Somehow this game won two Misaos: Trippiest Game and Best Shyamalan. I'm confused and appreciative. ]]

Epileptics beware: There’s a lot of flashing at points.

In honour of the release of Resident Evil 7... Enter the survival humour!

It's 2002. Jill and Tom have escaped the HELL of Umbrella to find the city crawling with flesh HUNGRY beasts, HIDDEN sex clubs, DEMONIC game show hosts and MATT LeBLANC (Lost in Space). Their mission: IT IS ESCAPE.

Will you help them survive the horror?

REISE is a bizarre mess that shouldn’t have been made. Starting life as the sequel to a terrible Resident Evil fan game from 2003, it gradually mutated into a Matt LeBlanc infested fever dream.

  • 5-7 hours long (really)

  • Offensive side quests

  • Haphazardly balanced combat

  • Occasionally funny dialogue

  • Bright colours

  • Play as Tom

  • Execution by flamethrower

  • 50% Horror; 50% stupidity

This game has been tested to a decent standard. I’m confident that most of the major bugs have been found and corrected. If you do discover something I’ve missed, please let me know. Also, this game was created with resources I’ve amassed over the years. Most of their origins are now unknown to me. If the original creator wants credited/ has objections, drop me a line.

REISE v1.03 update

* I played through the game on a Windows XP machine equipped with an Athlon XP 2600+ and 1GB of DDR RAM. I'm confident it will run on anything. *

==============
v1.03 changes
==============
1) Added Break Skills tutorial.
2) Added correct IF HERO facing conditions for troublesome doors/ objects. This prevents the player activating Touch Events by accident.
3) Removed the splash screens if a save is present. If a save is detected, the title menu will appear instantly.
4) Took 1 second off of the display time for Tom's tips.
5) Explained to the player how to end tape playback early.
6) Highlighted the door to the optional storage room in The Office area.
7) Highlighted the control panels in the Achievement Room.
8) *Hopefully* fixed various problems with the optional Ghost Hunting mini-game.
9) Added a side quest and a small area. They were in the original game plan, but I couldn’t be bothered until recently.

I think this game is trying to torture me or something with my sanity level lately because I keep constantly getting bombarded with commercials for “Man With A Plan,” a show I have absolutely NO interest in watching at all, starring Matt LeBlanc in it, during the last couple of nights that I’ve been watching the Canucks games. It’s like…come on, man! I already played that train wreck of a game with you in it, I don’t need you to keep popping up and reminding me of that acid trip again!

It’s funny, because before I even played this game I never actually knew who Matt LeBlanc even was because I never watched a single episode of Friends before. I mean, I’ve heard of the show, of course, from word of mouth, but I don’t remember any of the actual cast member’s names that were in it. And now, after playing this game – Matt LeBlanc won’t stop popping up on my television set!

Thanks a lot, twentyfour24. Now you’ve cursed with Matt LeBlanc me for at least the next month. I hope you're happy.
@Addit

Sorry, man. This is truly a horror game now ha ha

I hope this hasn't stressed you out too much.... How you doin'?

Aw, man – now random episodes of Friends happen to pop up from time to time after my show’s done without warning. Jesus, f**k...

"How you doin’," indeed, ugh...

I hope this hasn't stressed you out too much...

- Thank god for the mute button. *kisses the remote*

(Nah, seriously, make it stop!)
I don't think LeBlanc can be stopped. If 'Lost in Space' and 'Ed' couldn't stop him, then nothing will.
Wait, was he in that actual shitty remake of that Lost In Space movie? *goes to double check*

Aw…man - really? I didn’t even know about that, and I watched it in theaters back then. *shutters*

And as for Ed…I-I think it’s best if I don’t look up that. :)
You should definitely look up Ed... For then you shall know fear! ha ha

The fact that this won a Misao is amazing, how the heck I haven't dowloaded this yet (I knew this existed for quite some time now) is beyond me, as it screams of Ozzy-kind-of-game. I will play this and I will thank you now and afterwards for creating this. I'll keep you posted.
@OzzyTheOne

Be careful, thanking me might not be what you wanna do ha ha
Lol, this looks like a trash overflow.^^
Guess I'll give it a try.
@Red-Cube

I prefer the term 'Outsider Art' ha ha
Why am I enjoying this game so much kek

Because you are a person of taste and distinction? Maybe?

I did and it was beautiful... but not as beautiful as this line~

@Sawworm

I'd love to take credit for that, but I didn't come up with it. All the NPC comments in that area are real comments taken from various pen pal websites ha ha
Lol, dude this is pure trash. Yet very entertaining one.^^
I like that you still have the option to rest and save your progress before you reach harder sections or bossfights. Also that they are all quite managable and even though the enemy design is shitty, it's always obvious which special abilities they have with the shoes, helmets and stuff. But I disslike that u have to wait eternally because of all the stuff that is shown to you when you start the game.

At first I wasn't that motivated to play it at all but when Tom (The same Tom from "Pokemon but with animals"? :D ) said a train feeded too much nuts to his father I just had to play it. xD
Why do they talk like dyslexics? Is it a parody about bad japanese translations?^^
Also why are you dissing on Chris Lemmon actually? I kind of liked him back at "Thunder in paradies" lol.

I think I found a bug: Before I entered the house with the phone molestor I got the gay adult magazine from Shanes place. After I talked to the guy on the phone I couldn't place the magazine on the chair. Am I doing something wrong?
@Red-Cube

Thanks for playing it all. I'm not sure why I made it ha ha

The enemy design was worse before the final version (yes, I know). It was just mashing the attack button. Even though I know this game doesn't have good combat, I hope to have at least made it a little better.

The intros seemed like a good idea at the time. I forgot the player might have to watch them a couple of times.

In regard to their mode of speech, it's Engrish because the game started out as a parody of bad fan games from the early 2000s -- before turning into whatever it is now.

The bug: There's two magazines. 'Leatherhell' you find in the room off the helicopter pad. This one is given to McShane. The other one, 'LBoys', is bought from the prize store in Bone Garden. Phone guy wants that one. Unless it's broken and I've not noticed.
I just got executed and sent back to title screen 10/10
